my 9A....but Aaron is trying to talk me into a 02A
http://www.newbieforces.com/files/vwturbo456.JPG
reason i might be needing an 02A  T3/T4 60/63

its a 91 VW Golf GTI (began life as an 8v) "Montana Green"....still needs lots of stuff. i have a MegaSquirt on the way, also have some 10.1" front brakes, rear disc brakes...also negotiating for some teardrops to put on her cuz the 10.1's arent gonna clear those awsome Rabbit wheels ;) as you can see lots of plans...i will be sure to keep it everyone updated....

well not sure, story i heard was something like the car blew the motor ~8years ago and has been sitting, and people started taking ---- off of it, or parting it out, whatever. lots of ---- was included with the car, he filled it with the parts that came with it when he bought it (guy i bought it from changed his mind and bought another Rabbit) and threw in a bunch of ---- he had left over from another Golf he owned in the past...

well so far i have pulled a motor from a 94 Jetta (the one pictured) wasnt too hard, easier than the last Honda one i pulled at the junkyard. and that tranny...that was a bitch, you unbolt the ------ thing and it slides right out right? ---- no the axle housing hits the crossmember/LCA mount! that was homo, had to fight with it at the right angle to get it to slide out. my roommate said its usually easier to pull the motor out (the whole front end comes off as you can see, then the engine slides out wiht the hoist) to do a tranny swap. so im gonna try and get a Corrado G60 (the supercharged one) tranny, its bases off the VR6 tranny or some ---- so its stroger and i wont have to swap them out as often as the 9A above...

a fucked up like 8 and a half star pattern. My buddy had a VW Fox and I hated it soo much I dumped 2 cans of natty light in the oil. Supisingly, it ran better :-\

its not really a torx...its a 12pt star, i went to a VW specailty shop to get one before pulling the tranny...the 6 bolts on every axle is homo, i mean really, why the ---- are there bolts there? Honda's use a clip to hold the axle in, and it works fine 98% of the time

wouldnt it be cheaper to just get a 1.8t from a wreaker and get going?

Ive thought of doing that.A stock 1.8t will make up to 300hp.

Good luck.Like Doc said,it's good to see other projects other than honduhs :P

well i would like that, but wreckers are on some new kind of crack, worse than the old ----...there wanting like 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS for a 1.8T swap... i got the ABA (94 Jetta 2.0l) motor for 180bucks so i wasnt gonna pass on a 'free' motor. the original plan was for a 16v motor, but people are wanting around 400-500bucks for those.

we are doing an N/A 2.0L 8v in rebecca's '86 golf. a cam, chip, intake, header, and exhaust will make enough power get her around, and aenough torque to scare her a bit.

YES!!! ITS awesome!! My friend had the same color gti.

And i saw one up here on campus, it had BBS black wheels with a polished lip, nicely lowered, he had his parking lights on, cranked it up, then turned around and i suprisingly heard a BOV!!!! he put his lights on and it was a HID kit!!!!!!!!! IT WAS awesome!!!

I know u like my mini story, but it cant be as good as pictures would be!

I would rock the hell out of it!
