My new HMT setup finally running (with pics)

After about a month without internet, I can finally show you guys what i've been doing in the mean time; finishing the hmt setup on my Peugeot 205 gti.

For the first time in four years (yes I took my time) the project car is running on the road again ;D. It's still not quite finished but here are some pics of it.

This is how I bought it 4 years ago. The engine was the stock 1.9 8v unit, pushing a whopping 122 hp on the crank ::)

Yes the wheels are ugly.

After putting in a 2.0 16v engine from a Peugeot 306 s16 it was time to extract some more ponies. The complete coverage of it is on my webpage: www.student.kun.nl/p.oonincx/indexe.html

Anyway these are the recent pics:

My cars together. As you can see i'm a sucker for 205's. The nice thing is that all have a turbo ;D. The left one is a 1.4 8v with hmt setup, the one in the middle is a 1.8 turbo diesel.

The last picture was taken on the parking of 'gti international' the biggest tunig festival in Europe held at the circuit of Magny Cours in France. It was the first big trip (a bit over 1000 miles) i made with the car since it was running (two days before ;D), so I was a bit afraid of it breaking down but, luckily it didn't :)

For now I'm still running only 8 psi on a temporary management system (fuel: 1.8 8v ecu with 2 bar map sensor, 450 cc injectors and safc, spark: 2.0 8v turbo ecu) because my Haltech E6A is having some difficulties with the motornic rpm signal. But I'm hoping to have the problem fixed within a few weeks. The goal is about 280 - 300 hp on 15 psi. I'll post a vid and time slips when I have them.

Pieter

The car weighs 2070 right now, I'm hoping to get it below 1980 with lexan windows and lighter seats.

We (turboKoon and I) made the intake mani ourselves, his car is going to have a similar setup.

Spacer plate to reduce compression. Yeah it's a cheap ass solution, I'm going to buy pistons and rods when I have the money.

looking good Pieter, the fuel injector bungs look a bit long on that intake mani any reason why you did that?

Can't wait for some video!

Re:My new HMT setup finally running (with pics)

they might be the squirting a stream kind of injectors... thats the only thing i could think of.

DutchPug 08-05-2004 02:10 PM

Re:My new HMT setup finally running (with pics)

The reason for the long injector bungs is that we wanted the injector to squirt in this angle (aimed on the back of the valve, to cool them and make the fuel more vaporised). If the bung were shorter and have the same angle, it would be verry difficult to weld it to the manifold.

And nope turboKoon is white ;)
