My old down pipe was a 90 degree bend and it leaked often so I always wanted to change that and Friday night gave me a reason to upgrade. I was driving around the industrial area of brooklyn which has some of the worst pot holes that you can imagine. THis time instead of hitting a pothole I hit a 'hill', aka raised sewer cap. it smacked into my DP lifting up my whole turbo setup and created a leak before teh turbo. It also sounded loud as hell.

I started working on it on Saturday afternoon and ran out of welding wire and it started to rain so I had to finish it up today.
I was very happy with the results:


On top is the new DP and below the old one...


This is me being the biggest moron. I kept on saying to myself, "don't forget to slide on the flange thingy before you start welding up the pipe." Well I get done welding and then i see the FLange thingy I was like ----!!!! So i had to cut it again, slide on the flange adn then reweld. Yeah I'm an idiot.

So much cleaner man. Mandrels make it way easier and better flowing. I learned that after my first downpipe as well.

Jesus! You went from like the Flintstones to the Jetsons on that downpipe! lol. I like the use of the HX mani. It's like the new HF mani. I've used 3 of them so far and they look really nice but tend to set the turbo a bit lower then a HF.
