i was wondering if it would be better off with no intercooler. good job on having the boost/timing retard... this thing will last a while as long as you dont go crazy with the advance like i did! I miss my turbo d.

nice ride man...funny as hell to hear ppl talk about the y-49 cars...I had either an 88 or 89 model(this was like 7 or 8 years ago now), I had terrible luck with that car...

I've had temporary bad luck from parking next to Y-49 cars. Such as, birds flying between hood lip and top of the bumper cover and embedding themselves in my radiator with a plume of coolant and feathers. Or, a coworker bumped into my car with her Y-49 CRX and the next day my ------- neighbor backed into my front end smearing hood/bumper/radiator.

------- awesome cars, those.

The y-49, or whatever it is, hasn't hit me. Stupidity did.

"Slightly" leaky oil lines sitting above an alternator is asking for trouble. An hour later trying to get the alternator out, it was replaced. Fixed the oil lines, and we're golden. It turns out, my base timing was set to 8*, the map says 18, so I effectively had 0* timing at 10psi. I advanced it a few degrees at the dizzy, and I like it.

So, here's a quick couple passes from in the crx. We're shooting much more content tomorrow of 3 cars. Thanks for filming, Justin.

Nice, what wastegate is that? I can't even hear it unless I really really try. Does the WRX turbo have an internal or wha?

Wrx stock internal gate 7psi. You can just see it in this picture. It's got a very small flaper, and could use a larger one, but I'll deal with that sooner or later.
