Default My mini-me install and mini meet

Well Nitecrawler's install got cancelled so I took the time to mini-me my civic. From a Y7 to Y8 head.

Here is what is left of my bumper after I back out of my shed and caught a tool box and shattered the bottom.

Here is the car a part. no broken ringlands here!

New head studs and gasket.

After this is when the ---- hit the fan. I put the head on with the wrong stoke but luckily it was on 4 so no valves were damaged.
I took it back off and rotated the cam and then re installed.

Next problem was a wobbly cam gear. Luckily I had 2 more at the shop so I slapped the orignal back and it was fine.

Here is a picture of our sweet *** flank steak burritos complements of Jordan. mmm these are great!

See what you missed Josh! Next is my Burrito modleing next to my newly installd VTACK head! Dead sexy burrito!

At this point the car was running. We slapped in BBKA's map just to check VTEC engagement. This is where my heart fell into my sock. I revved it up and one of the capacitors I used for the P06 to P28 conversion exploded. We searched for a while to find a short but none was found. We triple checked my wiring and it was correct. My buddy Dan happened to stop down and was looking at the ecu. He said whats the chance the cap is polarity sensitive? I was like I dont know. He ran to Radio Shack and go me a new one. Sure as ---- its was and I had it in backwards. Dan reinstalled that and Pat dove right in helping me wire ---- while Noel was turning wrenches. Good effort by all! Jordan had to go at this point but once it was set the car revved sweet and I took it for a spin with Pete. The car pulled good at 5 psi but real good at 10.5 Traction was an issue due to the sand on the roads. The car ran geat the whole time. VTEC definately engaged so that put my mind at ease.

here is a pic of the guys that helped cars. Left to right Jordan's turbo EF, Pat's LS CRX daily Driver, Noel's pimp CRX B16

Pat's engine shot

Noel's engine

Again thanks to Jordan, Noel , Pat and Dan for all the help. It was a productive day as usual on the east Coast. Stay tuned for Nitecrawlers Install in 2 weeks!

Edit: Oh yeah, Dave how's the timing on your mini-me? Mines off like a tooth or half tooth. Just wondering if you have any issues with that using that combo block/head.

You better double check on Josh's story.

He was all set to go except for the weather, and then you guys end up doing something and he doesn't show. Unless someone calls his boss, I say he's a pretty selfish bitchboy. :P
