head was a painn in the ***. Uses a vtec like system thats way to complicated. Hondas got it locked down. You can see all the tapits fallin out.I think its a resin style intake, not sure if its resin or just plastic.
Zetec is nothing like Vtec at all, Zetec has no varible valve timing or variable anything. Zetec was basically just the name they decided to call that engine meaning "DOHC/Multiple valves per cylinder, nothing special about. Those things falling out are basically hydraulic tappets with I assume shims on the top of them. Be carful when taking these out, keep every shim with every tappit together and note where they go in the head. Otherwise you will have to adjust the valves (huge pain in the *** on those engines) It's actually a pretty comon valve system, lots of nissans and kia's are like that.

thats ------ great. my teammate put the head on the work table and let everyone of the bitchs fall out. i didnt see it but i heard it across the sop and ----. oh well. Ok so its nothing like vtec. WHat does the spring loaded gear on the end of the fron cam control? Ifigured that was fords ripped off version of vtec? Just from what i could see i thought it was a gear kind setup where the spring is compressed making the gear come together and change timing. JUst a theory but i guess im off on this one.

The only zetec that uses varible cam timing is the SVT and It's primary function is emissions related

Thats cool that in your down time you can work on your own stuff.

So what about Ecotec!? I just assumed that was a variable valve thing too?
