My engine builder has crossed the line

Re: My engine builder has crossed the line
Okay, perhaps the guys opinion sucks, and we all know better.
However! Any shop you take it to is going to do the same exact thing. Of course they want you to buy expensive retail parts from them, thats how they make money.
Of course they want you to buy an EMS they're equipped to tune. Then not only have you lined their pockets from purchasing it, but then they'll have to tune it for you too, which means they can charge you for a ton of dyno time.
Yeah, 100% of shops won't tell you to stay away from Crome, I think Torquefreaks down here has a honda technician who's been playing with it in some vehicles even, even though they are primarily AEM directional.
My suggestion is this. If you know the guy is going to do a good job assembling the head, assembling the bottom end, and will hand it back to you in strong form, then let him to exactly that. Kindly request that he go ahead and assemble the motor with the parts you've provided, and when its done, walk away and take none of his advice to heart. If you're not confident of his abilities, I say go in non-chalant and ask him to work up a bill of whats been done so far, hand him that much money, take your stuff, and leave.

that guys got you by the ***** man. He wants you to build your motor his way. therefore when ---- goes wrong, you go back to him to fix it, meaning him more money. Its a typical business.
What is done, and how much have you spent so far?

Re: My engine builder has crossed the line
If your bigger then him just bulley him and push him in the mud and be like "your big brother ain't got ---- on me n166a!" Honestly I'd take the ---- and do it yourself. Save youself some cash and plus you get some knowledge along the way.

Re: My engine builder has crossed the line
screw him, you will have to pay for the work he has done, but all the parts you said you got are known for being top quality, and after him saying ---- homemadeturbo you should have replyed with a swift kick to the nuts. Don't talk ---- about hmt.

Re: My engine builder has crossed the line
Thats why this is homemadeturbo not homeboughtturbo, do it yourself learn something and save money. Use the money you saved on labour for tools so next project is just that much cheaper/better.
