my crx just got hit by a forklift
so i go to leave the auto hobby shop and there's a forklift heading in the 'out' gate. so i stop and sit there with my foot on the clutch and the car is in 1st. i'm talkin to my buddy in the passenger seat and i figure the forklift driver must see me and will turn so he doesn't hit me. but he can't see me b/c he has a dumpster on the forks and the crx is low and, of course, small. by the time i realized he wasn't going to turn, it was too late for me to throw it all the way to reverse and try to back out of his way. so i hear "CRUNCH!" and a couple people yell "STOP!" and the driver did stop pretty fast. i imagined the fork stabbing right thru the b16 block and smashing the carbon fiber hood. but, when i popped the hood, the engine is fine, the header wasn't even touched. only b/c the car sits so low did the hood not get a scratch! and the plastic core radiator is bent almost in a 'C' and yet doesn't leak! the car runs fine, but the front bumper now has a fist-sized hole, front crossmember is bent, and i'll need a new radiator. i was at the shop to put tranny fluid in b/c it had a leak when i bought it 2 weeks ago. i discovered that the tranny case has a crack in it and that's where all the fluid was leaking out of! the car isn't registered yet, i have no insurance yet, all that bad ----.(i was waiting for payday cause i used all my dough to buy the car) but the guys at the shop say they will get it fixed without $$ coming out of my pocket.
anyone in socal have a 90-91 crx front bumper, front crossmember, or radiator to sell?
we'll see how it works out.
at least the car wasn't boosted yet, b/c that would have made for more stuff to get fucked up.
at least i didn't have a full-race turbo manifold with a brand new precision turbo and a tial wastegate on there!
but if i did, i wouldn't be hanging out at HMT, i guess, now would i?

Kyle: hey, you're right about the pics, but considering i left the car up at the shop and it's now sitting behind a wall and a very large, mean dog is running around it and the other cars while the shop is closed until friday.....
you'll just have to wait until then for me to post some pics.
