Wow they cleaned it out!!

It makes the pain cut much deeper thinking that this is how my car could have been if apexisilver didn't find it on craigslist.

Good plan with the track car. The last thing i would want to do is aesthetics when its all torn apart like that.

Well if I were to make lemonade out these lemons (yeah sorry its the best I can do this morning) I would say, they gave you a good start on striping it for a Race car. At least you have a rust free shell to start over with.

look at it this way, they stole all that stuff and gutted it for you so you didnt have to, now go to your insurance company with your receipts and get 50% back and start again. Could be worse. But think of it this way, after you get the lump check it will be like you sold everything off to upgrade. :6

Birdley, you are clueless. There is no comprehensive coverage on an 18 year old non-exotic or classic vehicle.

CHeck boston CL a bunch of ef ---- just went up for sale scott from RI 401-255-9317

Tom-Guy 02-18-2009 12:33 PM

Re: MY CAR WAS STOLEN ... Now with pics of aftermath

The only thing Scott has listed for sale that he didn't before the theft is a stock 89 CRX Si intake manifold, TB, and injectors.

I need to reiterate that I think contacting him since he goes through a lot of parts is a good idea, but I'm not getting the feeling he's the guy. I could be wrong about that, so tread carefully.

A decent alarm, hidden ricer gauges and possibly a fuel pump/batter kill switch hidden somewheres could have kept your car from going bye-bye. Then again, you put what? $800 into a $500 car? If u have insurance (and i hope to god you do because you're not seeing very much of that car left if it does get recovered), have them total it out and buy something else. Let that be a lesson to you.

Dont stick ---- on your car that says "fast" with no security. Chances are good, one day you'll come home to an oil spot in your driveway where your car used to be.

I hope you find it but i also hope you learned a good lesson about TRUST. Assume everyone is a back stabbing piece of ---- that wants what you have and you'll make it further in life.

Edit: I never take the time to read through these threads. You did find it. Shell is in good shape. Again, i hope your insurance is good.

Yeah, I agree. Don't put stuff like JICs on your car and post on the internet about it if you don't want to get your car stolen :8

Re: MY CAR WAS STOLEN ... Now with pics of aftermath

Put up a video camera on that street and get them on tape if they are always dumping cars there. You said the cops know who it was? Can you find out? They must either be close by, have a lot of equipment/people helping, or operate a tow truck to BE ABLE to leave cars without seats/engine/steering in that alley.

Sorry for your loss bud :(

You know, I totally agree with you. I really honestly feel bad for the guy who lost his car, probably his life at the moment...but in reality its something that goes along with owning a honda. IMO, you dont own a honda and not have the thought in the back of your mind. It doesn't matter if you have a bone stock 1989 honda hatchback or a 2008 Si, its got a strong chance of getting swiped. To the dude who says he lives in the boon-docks where no one will steal your ----...wait until you drive it into a city some day. You will be catching a bus back home, and it would suck to tell someone you couldn't go into the city because your afraid of your 1988 honda getting stolen. Really, thats the nature of the "game" though.

My advice, find another car you enjoy. There are tons of other cars out there that you can modify for pennies.
