My car got stolen
 

Basically I agreed to sell my 91 civic & spare parts to a local kid, he was giving me a 94 civic sedan, $800, and the K-sport coilovers off my Civic back (leaving them on to trailer the car home ONLY). He came to pick up my car (with a trailer) and said that he couldn't get the $$ because it was Sunday. I let him take my car anyway, and we agreed that he would get me the 94, $$, and coilovers by Friday. That was 4 weeks ago. He kept giving me BS excuses, saying he'd give me a call later, tomorrow, whatever. So I've been collecting info on him. I got he location of the shop where he took the car, cell phone, email, where he works (though the last time I talked to him he told me he was laid-off and the 94 got impounded).

Last night I filed a police report and a small claims suit, but I need to find his house (lives with his parents) so I can have the sheriff serve the small claims papers. I think I know where it is so basically I just have to drive by to get the address. Oh, and the 91 is still in my name, but the sheriff wouldn't let me file it as stolen, what kinda bullshit is that!!


I hate ---- heads, that is the last time I try to be a nice guy.

Anyone else been in a similar situation, how can I send this d-bag to prison?

I can see if you got the 94 and no cash or coils but you are in the US not northern Canada you can't trust people. I hope you lock your house.

get the triple a repo service tell him you locked your keys in the car and it died in front of his house. you still have the title. its still your car, go pick it up

it's in his buddies shop, already being stripped. Got his address though.

He is a friend of a friend. He also bought my turbo kit less than 2 months ago for $1g cash the day he looked at it.

If I knew someone was stripping my car and knew where it was you can guarantee id be caught cutting a ------- civic sized hole in the side of the damn place with an oxy/acetylene torch..

KILL YOURSELF!!! You NEVER sell ANYTHING without cash in hand, especially a car. I can see maybe if the guy was a REALLLLLLY good friend that had fell on hard times and needed some help, but it sounds like you really didn't know the guy TOO good. What were you thinkin?? ???

You posted yesterday you knew where your car was and it was being stripped. I will assume in your 1 day absence from this thread you have:

1) recovered your car and all parts
2) kicked that fucker in the head
3) made out with 5 hot underage lesbians
4) cured, then re-created a new strand of AIDS

I'm letting the law take care of it. I got his home address, he lives with his parents.

The sheriff told me I could be charged with GTA if I forcibly take the car back. Seriously. Even though it is titled in my name. This, my friends, is what kind of world we live in today.

You are officially screwed. I lent a good friend money once was i was young and more stupid than i am now. Went to small claims,I won, and i was awarded (get this) $10. a week which she only paid for 3 or 4 months and she moved. The only good thing is if you win the judgement is forever. Fast foward 14 years and i found out she got married and they bought a house. I filed for a attachment on the house and i quickly received a check for $1320.00 but i gave up on that money. If he lives with mommy and doesn't own anything you will get bumkis/squat a week and will be in the same boat i was.
