thats pretty funny :-)

i think its pretty obvious that i share some respect for him... hence i didnt hook straight in. his post was arse though.

i mean, i know its a turbo site, and turbos are great, and have their place, but you just cant say that a turbo has the same response as a itb setup. least not without itbs and antilag...

reality is that there is a thing called a "circle of grip" and when you are cornering, you had better be almost or completely off the throttle, either that, or you should have been going faster... add into that that unlinear and extreme hp means that gradually laying back into the throttle on the exit of a corner is somewhere between harder (for a good turbo setup) hard (for a not so good setup) and impossible (for an extreme high hp setup). in reality, having any non trivial amount of boost turns corner exit into a straighten up and then floor it point and shoot proposition. this may still be faster than without the boost (almost certainly) but its not as satisfying to the driver, and if the corner should get a bit less than grippy, the unlinear torque curve and throttle response are going to own you when you should have been controlling the over steer.

i know he knows all this... but i cant leave a thread thats not complete and accurate to just sit and be that way when i could simply and accurately correct it... so, there ya go. corrected.

Your advocating naturally asphixiated small displacement individual worthlessness over a forced induction solution reveals your predeliction for small boys. Disgusting.

I have access to both my turbo corolla and a buddys ITB 20v corolla. Ill admit the 20v sounds great but all the "throttle response" in the world doesnt give me wood like spinning the tires while rolling.

JD, with all due respect, do i or do i not have a ------- HUGE holset hanging off of my ute? thats right, i do. am i planning to go NA in the quest for better throttle response on that ute? no, i am not. what i am planning is a vf34 or similar BB unit that is only just big enough to max out my rx7 550s. something that can spool instantly when i mash the peddle at 3k or more. i'm sticking boosted because i have the right foot needed to make it work on the track. thats not to say that the scream of an itb equipt na engine doesnt make me smile, and its not to say that they arent quick enough (read low 14's) in the right light chassis. something like a stripped kp61 starlet with a black top 4age, or a 1gzfe 5l toyota v12 with cams and itbs in something heavy pulling mid 12's... something like that will always be a delight to drive fast through corners. thats not to say that there are many naturallly asphixiated vehicles that can do the right stuff in a straight line. mostly italian stuff, nothing jap except maybe the nsx, but never the less, they exist. you can keep the little boys for yourself. i hope that sort of answer is what you were looking for with that carefully provocative post. enjoy.

300-350 whp is dismal. You sorely dissappoint me.

courier. I love your turbo truck setup but....you're a prick (with a superiority complex). If you were invite me over to eat dinner, I would say "no because you're a prick and you have a superiority complex", even if you were having pizza and I love pizza.
