My Build is Finally Done! Pics inside.

Well. All I need to do now is tune it. been setting up this new laptop all day today so I should have it hooked up to the car this week sometime.

Here are some pics guys. Enjoy!!!

EDIT: I'm well aware of the shitty SSAC mani. No need go bring it up over and over again. I mainly got the damn thing because I should have some elbows coming in soon and will make a jig based on this manifold.

A coat of black on that IC and piping would look good as Jago said

lol yeah, better mani, and paint the intercooler piping and it will be ------- hot. but as it is, its pretty good. What goals are you shooting for? whats the setup? Have you test drove it? and where are the vids?

Because when it cracks I need it to make a jig, to make a proper manifold.

Test drove it out of boost. Im currently woring on a basemap and for now I need to break it in at around 7 psi. When I get my 660CC injectors my goal is 20psi out of this turbo. maybe ~300ish horsepower.

Those are some tyte JDM shots my friend...The setup is lookin sexay, don't mean to jump on the bandwagon, but I think a shot of flat-black might be a good idea for the IC and pipes...Don't know what kind of wheels those are, but i want some just like them...I actually really need honda centercaps.

If you read the WHOLE post. You'd know I'm trying to figure it out as well. LOL. To be honest with you I have no clue. All I know is they are made in australia and they're super light. Anyone notice the Toyo RA1's? They have about 4 weeks worth of tread on them lol I'll put them to good use.

Honestly. I did the whole flat black thing last year. Sure it looked more like a sleeper due to the fact that I still had the side grills and the IC was black. I want to be different now and try it this way, see the reaction I get...I'm not too worried about theft since between my girlfriend and I we have 3 cars so I wont be taking this one to the movies or anywhere where I have to leave it in a parking lot for longer than 10 minutes. This is my street car and its built just for cruising and track. Not really a daily driver anymore.

ok i might be wrong about this but whatever,

i dont think that painting the intercooler is such a good idea. bare metal transfers heat alot better than with a coating of paint on it, i would think that the paint would act as a insulator and hold the heat in the intercooler.

but im polish and drive a ford, so what do i know.

The thin coating on the IC doesn't make any sort of performance difference, not anything remotely measurable anyway. But yeah, polish+ford=aidsauce

I was getting more rub than the boy scouts at Michael Jacksons house.

I did some minor changes since thoes pics were taken. I now have Tein S tech springs with adjustable shocks on the way. I'm running Yokohama Runway 205/50/15 car still sits pretty low and I'm getting a tiny bit of rubbing when making aggressive turns but the ride is amazing, I can crank the wheel all the way to the left or right and I actually grip the road. ---- tuck, real performance cars arent slammed. I have maybe 1 finger width gap between the tires and fender but since the theels are wide and the tires stick out a bit it still looks really good.

I'll take some more update pics this week.

In the case of kamilk69 vs. intercooler paint, I find that the stealthness of the intercooler far outweighs all, if any negative effects of a ching chong meow intercooler. I sentence you to THE CHAIR!! :1

Re: My Build is Finally Done! Pics inside.

Radiator paint is the magic for a black intercooler. Mine is almost invisible.

NismoPlsr 06-20-2007 09:14 PM

Re: My Build is Finally Done! Pics inside.

Heat transfer through a thin layer of paint is pretty negligible. Then when you think about it, most of your heat transfer does not come from the leading edge of the tube/bar and fins. Its done across the whole surface area of every exposed part of the fins through the thickness of the whole intercooler. So unless you are dipping the intercooler into a bucket of paint the majority of the alum is not covered anyways. Such small differences that you would never notice a loss of cooling in datalogs

I love the car though. And for some reason i am really liking the way it looks. Even the non painted intercooler.

Zip tie intercooler brackets FTW! I used the biggest thickest ones i could find at home depot. They lasted for 3 years never broke. I had to do that because JB didnt stick to the cast endtanks for some reason.

Thanks

I actually dont really like that steering wheel any more. I'm looking to get a stock 92-95 eg 3 spoke non-airbag steering wheel

The seat I had since my old school CRX back in the day. it just kind of stuck around.
