My boosted GO_KART!!!!
Well me and my friend got bored today and decided to try something out. So we had a 240cfm 3 inch marine blower (aka electronic supercharger bullshit) So we took that and mounted it to the top of my gas tank and used alot of duck tape and some hose clamps and a small 12 volt battery wired to a switch on my steering wheel, and behold we were done! lol. Here are the pics.

WATCH IT LOL! http://www.av-imports.com/forum/inde...e=post&id=7090 |
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
how does it run? :D
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
Dyno numbers?
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
to bad if it actually created boost it would make the engine not run because the gas is sucked into the carb by VACCUM! nice project though.

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
dude that ---- is mounted right behind you. Better watch cause that ---- will rip your shirt off once you hit the switch on that and then start peeling off your skin. Then you won't be able to turn it off from the g forces that pulled your hands back causing you unable to reach the switch to turn it off and then you hit 88 mph and go back in time. It's been nice knowing you. :'(

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
you need a spiffy little red button to turn it on and off like a sweet nos button from F&F.
NEUMAN |
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
HA! thats awsome, i might have to try that one day...

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
too bad you can turbo a 2 stroke since the intake and exhaust valves are open at once

That reminds me of the episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force where they got their skin ripped off by the alien in the mirror. lol. |

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
you need to run a pressure line from after the blower to the gas tank so it pressurizes the gas and forces it into the carb O0 and nexttime make a vid of you rippin down the street >:D

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
so does it make it faster or not??? someone said no cus u have to rig the carb?? tell me more i want to do this to my minibike that boost looks intense 10000psi at least id say
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
2 strokes already are supercharged.

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
look i have a better ideal get a small tank that holds air pressure hook a regulator to it so you can ajust air pressure run your out line and make and make a pressureized box around the carb there you go you have boost that is ajustable then just refill the tank with air compressor when tank is empty
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
yea so how much time did that take? im going to use a smog pump on my ride on lawn mower belt driven and all O0

I'm not one of those people. |
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
Its really buging when you see people post stupid stuff like
1. Two strokes cant be Supercharged, 2. You cant do that with a carb. You need to build a box for the carb. Ps: A good pipe on a two stroke can give you the equvilent of 30 PSI boost. Thats the pressure at which the air and fuel in the header gets stufed back into the engine before the Exhaust port closes. |
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
Detroit Diesels - factory blown AND turbocharged two strokes!
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
seems like a cool idea, just poor execution.
|
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
you still havent told us how well it worked if at all.
How many amps did that motor pull off the Bat. |
Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
Garrett uses an electric supercharger to offset low CR "lag" on smaller displacement turbo engines, before the turbo spools. Meant for 2.0 liter displacement and smaller, for 1000-2000 rpm range useage, can increase torque by as much as 25%!
Translation: The car is making 40 ft/lbs @ 1400 rpms, now you have a whopping 50 ft/lbs with the Garrett e-blower. Your car is still a slow, puling pile of swill with no acceleration, but now you are 30% less likely to stall out because you don't know how to downshift. |

Re: My boosted GO_KART!!!!
I looked into this for the single cylinder 135cc bikes we build.
From what I gathered. THere is a motor that can be used. Its found in some old cars. The only problem is it draws arround 12 AMPS. Power and our bikes use a 5 amp Bat. |
