MPG?

It was recently brought to my attention that a SOHC turbo civic with shitty fuel management can get 41mpg. I almost swerved off the road since my NA KA24DE gets 22-24 mpg.

What MPG are you turbo guys running? I wonder if I will get an increase when I get boosted.

Re: MPG?

i was getting a solid 28-32 mpg when i was turbo'd; even if i drove like a dousche. Now that i'm NA i just got 36 the other day, but i had to drive like a grandma to get that.

Re: MPG?

I really don't rip and shift at 2500rpm religiously with the occassional rip and tear I got 35.7mpg then last fill up 36mpg. This is with a slight retarded pre-V-TAK timing issue so it should be a little more. Mind you, I do drive slow and "grandmaish". :S

Re: MPG?

---- if i know my mpg. i could figure it out if i thought about it, all i know is i get 350-400 miles per tank...

HondaTuner 05-06-2006 05:13 PM

Re: MPG?

take the miles divided by the gallons.

I use gassavers.org to track how many MPG I get.

For instance, this last tank I only got 26.. then again I was gunning it EVERYWHERE.

Re: MPG?

i've gotten as much as 38mpg on my boosted y7 hwy. i usually avg about 34mpg normally...that's both hwy and city on the same tank. both uber and crome tuned.

lately i've thought about leaning out the vac columns more to try and up the economy a little more since gas is getting so damn expensive.

damn. cost me 50 for a fill up. gas is only around 2.95 right now. lucky me i only fill up once every two weeks. 2.2l takes up a bit more gas than 1.6ers and 1.8s. only hit around 25-30mpg depending on how i drive. btw thank you sinister i knew hte math i'm just a lazy ass :P

AgentMurdoc 05-06-2006 09:26 PM

Re: MPG?

i paid 3.49 a gallon and my tank only lasts about 5 days. one week tops.

Re: MPG?

Donald125 05-08-2006 12:07 AM

Re: MPG?

10mpg with a 84 NA Rx7
20mpg with a 96 Maxima
35mpg with a NA z6 with crower cam
40mpg with a turbo z6.
40mpg with my current 8 valve motor LOL

BarelyBoosted 05-08-2006 12:26 AM

Re: MPG?

I get between 25-29 out of the ol' 2.2L as long as I stay below 5k rpms

I think it is funny how all these hybrid cars are coming out with their "great gas mileage" when their getting the same as some of these SOHC's. LOL

Re: MPG?

My CRX got 14 city/30 highway. Having to peel off the first three gears every traffic light takes it's toll.

The Beater Deluxe runs in open loop with TPS enrichment turned off (as off as it gets anyway) and tuned for 17.2:1 cruise 13.7 WOT. 37 mpg @ 2700 ft elevation in the mountains driving real gentle. I should crack mid-40's on the highway. Better if I ever took the transmissions and toolbox out of the back of it.

Re: MPG?

22-28

city or highway

Bone1 05-08-2006 05:46 PM

Re: MPG?

48 mpg highway with the race tranny, 53 mpg with the stock DX tranny.

Next tranny setup and some more of blundar's tweaking, should get 56-57 mpg.

I wanna break the 60 mpg barrier.........

Okay, time to install the water injection on the beater for fuel efficiency... I will *not* let Chuck show me up.
