I wouldn't mind me a IS300 even if it was autotragic. Hell I've even been eyeing up Mini's lately. :P

Re: Movin on up

I like this car so much I might have to get me one in a couple years, manual trans of course and a big nasty, and maybe all-red taillights. Doesnt get any more anti-rice than de-altezza-ing an altezza.

Re: Movin on up

my girl had a red one - manual too
it's actually pretty bad ass but they tried way too hard to compete with the 3 series...
all the way down to the orange instrument lights

surprisingly i liked the auto a little better than the stick - theres just something about the notchyness of the gear box that bothered me

Those cars just feel pretty solid, from the ride, to the low amount of noise that works its way into the cabin aswell as the sound of the engine at wot.

Re: Movin on up

I have always loved those. I've heard they aren't that fast, but I wouldn't buy one to be fast. I just like the looks and style of themm. :y Luxury, style, and a small bit of performance works for me. :6 You can always make them fast if you need to. I seen one fully built with a moster turbo on Egay sell a few years back for like $30k. It was VERY nice and EVERYTHING was built, not just the motor. :6

no he doesn't. it's the stock motor and he's frontin' like it's a supra.

how many bolts/mounts of the IS did he use to bolt on the "supra" engine?

yeah I read it and guess what? The only thing they share is the "2jz". That link doesn't say ----. The IS 2jz-ge is different from the Supra 2jz-gte.

If you think they are the same just cause they both start with 2jz, i feel SORRY for YOU and you should mind ME bustah.

Think of it as a D16A1 vs. A D16A6 the same?

not saying identical in every way but not only do they share the same engine code but also the configuration and youve never heard of the IS being mentioned as the poor mans supra??

dude than your initial post and posts to follow were and are absolutely useless. bub claimed his buddy has a supra 2jz TT swap, I call bullshit. You say they are the same engine with the exception of turbo. I say bullshit. You say they are not the same but share a similarity in engine code. Which is what I already stated. What the ---- was the point of all that ----? It just goes back to me calling bullshit on the supra swap.

Nothing was accomplished on your part.

And the issue isn't whether or not the IS being the poorman's supra, the issue is swapping in a 2jz-gte into an IS.

And I'm older than you, recognize.

ok i get the swap part but there are plenty of them rolling around with 2jz's in them as far as someone on HMT having one i call bullshit on that too. and i was merely stating they are the same block, configuration, and so on and a big plus is you can eve bolt the factory IS tanny on them as well but most op for the 6 speed.. so it really all boils down to me and you arguing over a bull ---- swap and post whoring.. and older than me

I'm gonna drop the 2jz crap... I'm way too tired for it.

dude I was lying that I turn 18 in august. Only those that know me know that I am actually going into my Mid-20's. Lying on the internet = the fountain of youth. I wish I was turning 18 in August. I woulda been proud to have gone through 8 hondas, 1 jaguar, 3 Mercedes, and a Nissan before I turned 18. :P But I'll have to settle for being in my 20's with a Del Sol, Integra, and the v12 O0

I may not post here all that often, but have been here a long time. Turbo magazine did an article a while back on a 2jz supra swap into an IS 300 and the owner clearly stated NOTHING just drops in. The 2jzgte is a stronger motor as far as the bottom end goes and how the heads flow vs the is300.
