Motorcycles..............!!
I'm getting a motorcycle liscense in a week and I want to pick up a bike.
I want a 600cc sport bike
I want to spend 2-3k
I've been looking at the cbr f3's but I saw a f2 that looks pretty good.
How do older bikes hold up?
It looks like i'll be getting either a slightly older bike, or a newer bike thats been laid down. If they're ugly I don't really care, I'm sure I'll drop it at least once and I'm in a auto paint class right now anyways.
anyone in the bay area thats selling a bike?

Re: Motorcycles..............!!
Older bikes are fine. Compared to the newer stuff:
pros
-They are more forgiving powerwise
-Lots of junk parts online
-who gives a ---- if you lay it down (aslong as you aren't hurt that is)
-won't depreciate as much as when new
cons
-carbs can be no fun sometimes
-not as fast
-won't handle as well
With that said.... go buy whatever you want.. free country but wear the gear. Because contrary to popular thinking having road-rash all over your body and death aren't that cool. BTW, I ride a 96 Suzuki GS500. It is [relative to other sport bikes]slow, cheap, reliable and yet still as much fun as I need.

If youve never rode a bike before at all a 600 is fine. If youve rode dirtbikes alot Get the biggest bike you can afford.
Just like cars it all depends on how beat on the bike is how many miles. show some pateince look around and you'll find a good deal something like a 99 cbr 900 in your price range.

as far as speed goes, thats no problem and there aren't many/any fuel injected bikes in my price range.
I definitley don't want a 900 but I'll wait around for a good deal on a newer 600..

Here's one on ebay of all places. It's a bit far from where you live but you can find one closer. You need to get one soon though, In a another month people will start buying the ones that have set around for sale all winter. The good deals are sitting around right now.
