Mother bitches
What's up everyone. It's been awhile since i've actually been on here to post, so I thought I'd throw up an update incase anyone actually remembers me :P
Here's the latest with my car... Old setup: stock b16, .48 .68 t3, log mani, JRC front mount, uberdata, dsm 450's, blah blah blah nothing special Pulled that out and sold everything, and now i'm workin on a dsm awd swap with a 2.4 liter, and 67mm turbo. I'm looking for 600 ponies at all 4 wheels on c16 Just a couple random pics, I'm hoping to start working on the rear subframe sometime this or next weekend. I havn't worked on it TOO much latley, i've been too busy at work http://www.lseperformance.com/galler...serialNumber=1 http://www.lseperformance.com/galler...serialNumber=1 http://www.lseperformance.com/galler...serialNumber=1 The engine is mounted in, but i still have to start working on wiring and drivetrain Also since i've been back from school, I picked up a bomb ass job at a local performance shop and get to work on cool ---- like this http://www.lseperformance.com/galler...serialNumber=2 Made 720 AWHP last season, and we're doing a bigger single turbo setup for this year So that's what I've been up to. Decided to quit lurking, and come back to start making noobs hate life and give you fucks some pics to oogle :8 |
Re: Mother bitches
---- dude, thats quite an ambitious project. Keep up the updates.!.
|
Re: Mother bitches
Good stuff, a local is doing the same thing with a CRX. Good luck man.
|
Re: Mother bitches
You're mixing a rust prone honda body with the unreliability of a dsm drivetrain, not really my cup of tea but I give you huge props for taking on a project of that magnatude. Not bashing dsm's the coupple I've been in almolst made me ---- my pants they launch so hard.
Edit: is that a 6 or 7 bolt? |
Re: Mother bitches
I was actually surprised at how little rust there was on the chassis when i ripped everything out. I'm not too worried about breaking ---- either, the shop I work at is basically a DSM/3000gt shop with at least 1 built motor in stock at all times. The motor is going to be a 6 bolt 2.4L

Re: Mother bitches
The stealth shuttle will turn you out. The TC crew is "once in, never out". Don't make us look for you. :6
|
Re: Mother bitches
I've always been TC you nog, I've just been layin low for awhile. How's the shuttle been comin along steve? I heared you had another kid?!?!
|
Re: Mother bitches
another one? lol i sure hope not. As far as i believe the shuttle is back on its own feet. When are you going to have this thing finished? curious to see how it performs. I'll race you from a roll :P
|
Re: Mother bitches
that 6?72 looks sick man, would like to know more about it...I read one time that engine management problems kept ppl from making REAL high hp(600hp+) with those engines, but that was awhile back, and it looks like you guys haven't had too many problems....
|
Re: Mother bitches
I heard this through the grapevine before the post, good luck, and the 3000gt that engine belongs to is a beast.
|
Re: Mother bitches
There is no options with the 6g72 other than full blown standalone making those power levels. Maybe you could get by on a emanage ultimate but with all the sensors its not any cheaper. Most people run the aem if they are using bigger than 550 injectors.
|
Re: Mother bitches
Ah, I've heard about this. Whats you plan for the axles? It seems like that would be the biggest obsticle, yes/no?
|
Re: Mother bitches
The axles actually won't be bad at all, just expensive. Custom length front and rear axles and center driveshaft from the driveshaft shop.
As far as the 6g72, yes, it's running an AEM standalone. I've been working with AEM's for almost a year now, and absolutley love em. I've also done SAFC's, and e-manage ultimates and havn't been happy with the results ever on these cars. So needless to say, managment hasn't been an issue. The latest issue we're running into is there's a weak spot on the head where it lifts and blows headgaskets constantly at this power level. We think we've found a fix though, so now we need to make the tranny keep up. Here's some more pics with the old twin 50 trim setup. 720 AWHP @ 33 PSI, wastegates screwed shut O0 that's a 3 inch pipe http://lseperformance.com/gallery/ma...serialNumber=2 http://lseperformance.com/gallery/ma...serialNumber=2 Yep, street car :y http://lseperformance.com/gallery/ma...serialNumber=2 Old twin 50 trim setup http://lseperformance.com/gallery/ma...serialNumber=2 |
Re: Mother bitches
Damm quite the project you got on the go :o Keep the updates coming I like DSM motors i just normally dont like ther cars they came in or the factory engine managment/electrics but you just fixed all that :y
|
Re: Mother bitches
Same here. I love the engines, and always told myself that i wouldn't get rid of the honda if it was awd, so......... ;)
|
Re: Mother bitches
damn, that's a nice car...is that a stealth body or 3000GT??...can't quite tell....
|
Re: Mother bitches
Stealth I would say judging from the headlights.
|
Re: Mother bitches
Oh ---- chris, looks good.
|
Re: Mother bitches
stealth you can always tell by the ugly bananna wing :-X thank god that was gone from my stealth when i got it.

Edit: is that a 6 or 7 bolt? Anyway, looks like a sweet setup so far. Seems that del sol owners just keep getting crazier and crazier. I've seen number h22 and b18c5, mid engine, rear drive del sols over the years. I've seen a sr20dett(one of those popular nissan motors) i believe it was, swapped into a del sol. And now a DSM power, AWD sol. Anyway, i want FULL and DETAILED PICS!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Mother bitches
Holy ---- I've been avoiding this thread ...
That's a nice project you got going there. Can't wait to see how it runs. I've never cared for DSMs but I've heard crazy numbers from their engines. |
Re: Mother bitches
I'm actually REALLY worried about twisting this chassis up. This is staying a 100% street car, so because of the way it would need to be made with this chassis there will not be a cage. I'm going to be welding bars up EVERYWHERE though, which actually sucks because I'm trying to keep the car under 2600 LBS by the time I'm done with it. Odds are, I won't be able to punch it with the top off on race gas, cause I'm not gonna make some fugly ass brace for the top. The nice thing about the del sol chassis as compared to doing this to a civic of the same year, is that the del sol has a HUGE tunnel, so there's plenty of room for a t-case, driveshaft, and exhaust
|
Re: Mother bitches
Kinda make you wonder what they made that tunnel for? I remember in my buddy's delsol that in center counsel appeared that it had a rwd setup as it's extends almost all the way to the trunk firewall. MR2's are like that too.. I've been thinking of something similiar as using a AWD civic wagon and tossing all the DSM stuff on it cause I don't think the stock civic drivetrain stuff would handle the 4G's power. This is a really sweet project you got going though. Keep us updated.
|
Re: Mother bitches
del sols looks like rwd cars. i wanna see a s2k drivetrain swap into a del slow..
|
Re: Mother bitches
I actually considered that too. But with me working at a DSM shop, this ends up being cheaper. Plus AWD lauches give me wood :6
