the shittiest flowing heads in production today, coil packs that ---- the bed at will and leave you stranded, a ridiculously terrible oil sludge problem, a timing belt that breaks before 60% of the factory specified interval, a complete lack of end user tuneable software (except for lemmiwinks, which is akin to performing brain surgery with a shotgun), an intake manifold that is too small from the factory stock, 250$ spare keys... and they're slow as ----.

Coil packs were a problem and have since been corrected.
Timing belts... some did break but it really is not that common.
Oil Sludging was a problem on the A4/Passat motor only and that was because people were using the wrong spec oil.
Spare keys... even at the dealer they were $150, that is pretty typical for any new key these days.
Intake manifold was fine for a stock car, and even for small turbo upgrades. Not sure where you get your info.

there is vw tards just like there is the riced out honda crowd. of course, the biggest tards post on vortex so of course, you get to see the most awesomly retarded of the whole lot.
the vw scene is on its way down IMO, 90% of the cars that show up at gtg's and shows are mk4 or newer with some coils and wheels and they call themselves enthusiasts cause they just bought a car that has a vw symbol on it. i dont like any dubs newer than a mk3, and even that is pushing it, i own all pre-92 and wont buy any vw newer than that. its getting lamer every year. i have been branching out and checking out other meets and shows to get away from it haha
you used to be able to show up and see some cars where people actually built something cool. now its all bolt on 1.8t crap. there are still cool stuff being built and cars that are cool to see, but they are becoming fewer and fewer compared to the recent explosion of new excuses for cars that vw is trying to pass off
