I'm on a roll. The pic's are made in my shed. New Mig welder(Me and a friend of mine bought it togehter. http://www.newbieforces.com/files/IM000069.JPG My other D15B2 with a cleaned head...sporting the new manifold and CT20 turbine housing. http://www.newbieforces.com/files/IM000070.JPG My downpipe..well a piece of it...you can see the difference of the mig weld(without gas on the left) and the arc weld (on the right) made by a amateur welder like me ;D http://www.newbieforces.com/files/IM000071.JPG |

Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly

Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly
i think the arc weld looks better, shouldn't have wasted your money on the mig, you could have bought a hooker ;D

Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly
yeah the camara is great....lol projekteg....the arc only made blobs and the occasional nice beads the mig makes nice beads

Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly
Nice welder Sem. I see many turbo projects coming from that. ;) It seems to run a nice, clean bead too.

Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly
good start, some points though to improve your weld.
watch the puddle more and the arc less. (i can see from how the bead is uneven that you were not watching the puddle when you should have been) wait for it to become fluid and only very slightly convex before proceeding, and remember, if it's too convex move slower, too concave & burning through, move faster) right now it looks like you need to slow down and maybe turn the heat up a bit. hope that helps --brent |
Re:More PIC's .....new welder etc...low res..56K friendly
thanks for the advise man
It was my first Mig weld :) had to get used to it...I was moving to fast indeed...and it was kinda difficult to see the puddle with the mig welder couldn't see where I was welding at first, but I changed the lenses on the visor and that did the trick |
