for some reason rod bearing damage isn't quite as exciting as total motor destruction

hmm maybe between the piston carnage and the sleeve crack maybe some of the metal got into your oil and embedded/pitted your bearings... what did your oil pan look like?

Re:more carnage

wierd... this is the second time youve blown ringlands on the boosted motor right? Maybe somthing is wrong with your setup too, like leaning out or you need to pull out more timing?

2nd set of 4 that ive done in ya
but this time the sleeve cracked

the first time i broke them my tune was up to 11psi
the boost gauge is gay and changes at different alitiudes, so it read 8psi so i got out and turn it up and was running 14+ for one night (when it was really chilly out so it was makin more power too)

that broke em the first time.

2nd time either they just broke for whatever reason, or i put the pistons in bad and messed up the oil ring, you could see where oil was gettin onto the piston and the oil really leans it out...

hopefully the 5 liter will withstand the kind of abuse i put on motors.
