Re:moral dilemma help .....

i think the majority of people here would say to stick with the D, but you better decide quick, before the ebay auction on that motor ends

uhhhhhhhh....... yeah, maybe, but a built b will beat a built d, so get the b for now, make more power than you would make with a stock d, then build it and make more than you would make with a built d......... it all comes down to if you want' as much power as possible........

Semnos 01-07-2004 09:19 AM

Re:moral dilemma help .....

A good build D can make a lot of power though....with 24 psi uhmmm ti should be over 300 and with good tuning must be able to reach 400 imo

projekteg 01-07-2004 09:27 AM

Re:moral dilemma help .....

yes, but once again, if you boost 24 psi with great tuning on a b, you'll make even more power. it's more like a pride thing, when i had my 2g integra, i loved it and said i would never sell out and get a "new" car, all i was doing was lying to myself, i knew i would take a newer car over it.

Well I guess ::)
The only way I would leave d series would be for an H22 8)

Re:moral dilemma help .....

I gotta go with Abaz, B series has ALOT more potential.

ohhhhhhh......... *sigh* all of these "D"voted d series believers, ignorance is bliss! ::)

Re:moral dilemma help .....

thats true a built d with 24 psi versus a built b with the same psi the b would win. But it doesn't depend on the car it depends on the person who put the most money on a car to make it fast. So its anyones ball game. I would perfer a h22 engine though.

Re:moral dilemma help .....

well guys i def have b series funding now....just recieved a surprise court ordered restitution check from a old settle ,ment today for 1512.11. so thats 2512.11 i have to install a b series motor. i was thinking gsr swap. but.. thats also enough to sleeve the d series and get internals and a half a just about a zdyne. so. its lookin like d series with 300 plus might b the ticket.

projekteg 01-07-2004 01:33 PM

Re:moral dilemma help .....

you could make 300hp with a non sleeved b-series easily with a big enough turbo, good enough management on a b18c, you would pretty much be there, maybe just some pistons and rods for a little security, then down the road when some more funding comes into play, get it sleeved and a bigger turbo and make 400+ hp, oh well, whatever floats your hypodermic needle........

miss-piggy 01-07-2004 01:56 PM

Re:moral dilemma help .....

Wow, this is a dilemmma. B series regardless. You can probably get a ls/vtec and put pistons and rods in for $2500. You can use a T3 .63/.60 and make 300whp...get a t3/t04e .63 and you can make 300+ easily. So my vote is for any B series. LS/Vtec w/ rods and pistons would be my 1st choice.

Re:moral dilemma help .....

It's all about the power... as stated earlier.

"B-series" No dilemma here.

Re:moral dilemma help .....

Ok, let's think about this for a second. The B has alot of potential and is a great motor, but when they break they cost you an assload. Any part for a B series is going to cost you a shitload to replace. From that other thread I got the impression that you don't have a job and you live with your parents. Is it going to be cost effective to blow all of this money on an expensive ass motor and not even be done building it yet? If it breaks what are you going to do? What if you throw a rod? Are you going to have the money for a new block? What if you drop a valve? Can you afford to fix that?
I'm not saying dumping alot of money into a D series blcok is any better, but what's going to be cheaper to replace or fix in the long run? A d series blcok can be had for pocket change. Good luck finding a cheap B series block. :-\
