+ + + MOBILE NUTZ! Come on IN! VERiZON Gurus even Better! HELP! + + +

Okays peoples, I need some help. Lemme break it down right quick:

- I have Verizon
- I have a Korean phone
- I want to activae it on Verizon
- Phone ESN not on Verizon's database

Now I needs some helps, do any of you guys have some knowledge on this? I have a last resort, but I would like to try and avoid that as much as possible ;)

I'm basically just hoping for someone that works or knows someone that works for Verizon that would be able to help me 'force' activate the phone.

I may be willing to kick down a lil cash.

take your phone down to verizon.

they say it depends on the year the model was made. apparently. all new ones work. but only some of the older ones work.

i had a korean cell phone i took it to bestbuy where they have a verizon dealer. and they said that it wont work. that was about a year ago.
i dont know why america gets the shitty versions of everything. we have shitty cars. shitty cell phones. and shitty laptops. thats fucked up.

Re: + + + MOBILE NUTZ! Come on IN! VERiZON Gurus even Better! HELP! + + +

the thing is, Verizon has gotten VERY strict on what phones they activate. Apparantly they are becoming like Sprint and trying to use only Verizon branded phones. And plus they are weeding out non E911 phones and they want only GPS enabled phones too.

This change happened just recently too.

Oh and buk (what's your real name ???), your phone woulda worked a year ago, those Verizon people just didn't know chit. It's just that more than likely you wouldn't be able to do the over the air activation (because of the SPC), just have them enter the ESN into the system and then manually program the phone. It wouldn't work as great if it were OTA, but it'll work.

A year ago, well more than a year actually, I was pawning off Virgin Mobile phones for Verizon use after I unlocked them. Worked too. Everyone couldn't do OTA and had it manually programmed and doing so they had a glitchy text messaging or something, I forgot. It was an easy fix though, I figured it out and worked flawlessly.

By the way, what Korean phone did you have?

I totally agree with us getting the shitty stuff. That's why I bought this Korean phone, sick of this whack ass ---- we get.

thats why i said ---- verizon and sprint. i went to tmobil a long time ago. i like there plans... 600 minutes nationwide. free mobile to mobile. free nights and weekends. i pay 40 bucks a month. and im happy.

e911 is a big problem. i think congress passed a law that gives a deadline that all phones need to be e911 enabled before a certain date.

my name is mohammed, people call me jay, mj, or moho but buk is just fine. i got like 10 other nicks that people actually use interchangebly...

my phone would have worked? i also took it down to a number of other places before i took it down to bestbuy. i figured since best buy knew there stuff. they must have been right.. so i stopped after that :-\

i dont remember the model. it was like a year ago. lol. i dont even remember what happend to the phone.. but it was a super small phone. one of those tiny flip phones where the phone is so small that its easier use a pen or a pencil to dial :1

seriously. not only is everything here ----. but its also more expensive.

this guy i just met lives in the netherlands and gets adsl +3 and downloads at speeds up to 3mb/second and he pays less than what i pay a month for cable.. that blows.. id be lucky to hit 1mb/second on my cable.

not to mention the entire Guitar/bass scene.. i looked everywhere for a left handed guitar.. and ended up paying 800 dollars to convert a right handed one..
god damn it.

if you were HMT NE, I'd be all over it but you're out of my maket so I can't touch your account.

Basically if it's not GPS capable it's not gonna happen at all. If It's not verizon.. its a very good chance it won't happen either. goodliuck

so you saying that you already have a verizon account. but you have a phone that they dont usually carry? cant you just take your old sim card out and put it in your korean phone. the sim card is what gives you the service but some of the older phones dont have them.

Re: + + + MOBILE NUTZ! Come on IN! VERiZON Gurus even Better! HELP! + + +

im sorry but it would be realy hard to do that because verison will not enter one into the database, verision does not give out software to do so. the ESN on the phone also determines the Master Subsidy Lock on the phone. the MSL is the code that allows you to program the phone. it is 6 digit number. The trouble comes in where they have no idea how to program the phone because they cant get your msl. Im sure even if they did have some high end tech enter the ESN of the phone into the database it would be extreamly hard to get the MSL for the device. If you know the MSL and the NAM and MSID, usualy NAM and MSID are the same. NAM is just your phone number. you could try to program the phone to use your verison account, but then again you would be stuck trying to figure out the 6 digit number. not even knowing how to acess the MSL screen on the phone(that would not be a big issue most phones are the same). and the phone would have to be CDMA. its a huge pain in the ass. ive gotten some sprint phones to work on the verison network. but i used to be a CSR and a DATA Teir 1 tech for sprint. so i had access to the MSL.

w00t!

Can you give me Verizon's WAP access address and any needed infos? I really just want to be able to get multiple acounts on the airg.com game Atomic Dove, via computer w/ WAP browser, so I can have a few more turns per day, and win a stupid AD hat.

pretty sure only companys on GSM networks use SIM cards. thats tmobil and cingular.

sounds like he needs to switch carriers then. ive had no problems with cingular. i have t-mobile too, but only for the sidekick 2. t-mobiles service is iffy, but cingular is the way to go.

yes they do use sim cards, but thier service sucks, and are very expensive. i use nextel on the job everyday for free and ill tell you that id never pay for such lousy service. ive used cingular from hawaii to detroit and had no problems at all. plus the rollover your unused minutes to your next month.

Good luck activating that phone on Verizon. They wont profit from it so they wont help you... even though they can. I used to work for them there a bunch of money grubbing assholes. They would probably activate it if you bought a new phone ;)

damn are you serious? That sucks. I know it is, or should I say was, very possible to activate a non-verizon phone onto the network, I've done it myself to my account at least a dozen times with non-verizon phones. It's just now, with the new system, I can't activate it and need the help of someone on the inside.

I have the MSL and the code to access the programming menu. The phone has been manually programmed, BUT all I need now is for Verizon to include the ESN into the database and recognize the phone so I could actually use it. And yes the phone is CDMA.

Just go with T-Mobile man, they promise to offer you the most minutes and free long distance/roaming night and weekeds. Also best customer service i tell ya, with a sim card you don't have to worry about all these BS and you get a free gsm phone for signing up. They actually have a plan right now for $39.99 you get 1500 minutes!!! and for $49.99 you get FREE nights and weekends lets see verizon beat that. I get really good reception too cause of their 100% digital GSM network. Verizon and sprint sucks ass. :y ;D O0

I know verizon sucks guys, but as far as coverage goes, it's the best I've had. I've had cingular, t-mobile, and thems, I loved Cingular, but reception died out in the mountains for example, where Verizon still had service. And with that, I have my parents on my plan and I would like to provide them with a service where if they needed to make an outgoing call it'll happen. Verizon's incoming calls, that's where they suck.

Oh yeah, and buk, I'll call you moham :P Find that phone dude! I'm assuming it was a moto flip phone that was small as ---- huh.

Damn help me guys, I really don't want to experiement with the last resort.

sprint and verizon both use cdma.. and one of the business benefits with having a cdma network is the ability select exactly which phones will and will not work with their network.. it sucks and is the reason typically that sprint and verizon phones are the most expensive phone on ebay.. they all have to come from sprint or verizon first vs. cigular which uses the more world wide standard of gsm meaning phones can come from manufacturers all over the world and do not need to meet the middle man(service provider).

I just switched to verizon because the cingular service in my area turned to complete crap....two different phones and I wanted to throw them both out the car window. Anyway...who has the hook-ups for Verizon ringtones...I only have the LG VX5300 (i think) and the ringtones suck balls. Sorry, Murdizzle, not trying to jack your thread, I just don't want to start another cell phone related thread :P

See so you know exactly why I choose to stay with Verizon. Some areas the GSM is just no good. For ring tones, Verizon doens't like these third parties to send you ringtones. There are some ways around it for different phones.

i.e. I have a a670 and I could record a voice memo. With that memo, I could send a picture message to myself with the voice memo attached. When I recieve the message, I could then save the sound as a ringtone.

Yea, I tried that on my phone, it doesn't work. I dunno if I have to sign up for some other feature or not. I am kind of a newbie to phones with all the features such as camera's, ringtones and that ----. I am kinda old school when it comes to phones....in the past it just needed to be able to send and receive calls, lol.

lol. I'm a cell phone nut. When I had cingular I had a new phone every few months. I think 3 or 4 months was the average. I got verizon to stop that madness, but now I've had verizon for a little over 2 years and this would be my like 6th phone, if not more.

Personall I just stick to the classic *ring*ring*, but it would probably easier for you to just get the ringtones that verizon sells.
