Default Military Summer Vacation

Just got back from the two summer field exercises I had to do for my school(USUHS). For the first half we had to be pretend patients for the MS-4's. It was pretty cool they put fake injuries on, and the MS-4 had to figure out the treatment, and triage. It ended with a mass casualty exercise at night. For that they gave me an amputated leg and I was able to spray some people with the fake blood they gave me. They had alot of news stations out there, senators, 3 and 4 star generals so I wouldn't be surprised if it is in the news in the Hershey, PA or Bethesda, MD areas. The other exercise was more individual, we got trained on the M9, how to do IV's, how to render care under fire and a bunch of other stuff. They took us out the the paintball range one day and we got to shoot each other up, while a few of us acted as medics. Now I'm finally done with my MS1 year, it feels good lol. We moved to a nice home in Clarksburg, so this year we won't be so cramed in(last year it was 4 people in a 2bdr apt), and I will at least have a place to start some projects, time is another issue, will have to see how it plays out.

Kinda cold for a military dude, Frank. Or is there some bitter pill of life experience coming into play that us non-military types aren't getting?

Wtf junkhead, I have a 7year active duty comitment when I get done with school, and that is post residency. That means I will be like 45 before I can even think about getting out. I will be deployed all around the world by then, don't give me ---- about Iraq. There are plenty of former rangers, marines, and infantry in our class. I was in the box for a year before I was picked up. I was posting this up for anyone who is intrested about military medicine.
