military and state vehicle info

has anyone here ever picked up a old state or military vehicle? I found a place that has quite a few of them...found a 2000 suburban 64k miles, clean, no rust...4x4, undercarriage is clean, winch thats never been used, great running truck but i'm worried about the gearing of the thing. I know the CUC V's are geared super low and im wondering if this would be the same way? Its a gas motor, 454. I know this thing would tow anything anywhere and would probably go through anything...but will it run 75-80 down the interstate? lol.

not sure about the gear though it's probably low. Any way you can see who used it? The vehicles we use on the flightline get the piss beat out of them...short trips, on/off, stop and go. Alot of the flightline vehicles are governed as well.

to my knowledge, it was a state vehicle. Around this area we have a huge national forest. I would assume its from that. It looks identical to the trucks that sit out front of their office.

I cant find ---- about the suburbans. I cant even find anything about a 454 suburban in 2000. Must be something to do with the special order?

friend bought a nice looking undercover monte carlo last year for cheap daily. 200km transmission was dead second week, engine blew not long after he got it back.
i wouldn't trust them.
