And then i'll keep updating it.

Anyway, I think I broke the shift fork on the B18A1 tranny, i'm so pissed, nothing is going right with this swap.

I will be pulling the tranny today and i'll take pics, how the hell did this happen?

what is it doing?

Re: Might as well make a "Broke this today" thread

I didnt put it in wrong, nor did I put it in, it was already in the Tranny, and yeah, the ------- thing is pretty tight, The line is fine, the slutch is fine since I costed home in first and second gears, I had to rev match the tranny, so the clutch is fine, I know its the fork, but I dont know why it would break.

I think i'm gonna take the fork out, Reinforce it, weld it and get an EF clutch cable instead of the DA one, see if that combo works, i'm still pissed about what happened, Iwas supposed to go get some traction bars made this weekend, hopefully I still get to do that.

Lube it up? What would that have to do with a clutch fork?

Milage has nothing to do with a release fork, the engine is strong bro.

Re: Might as well make a "Broke this today" thread

engine is strong but stupid ---- wears out. such as that fork... what are the symptoms? wont go in gear when engine is on even with clutch engauged? i think ur clutch broke. forks dont jus break.

Well, turns out its not the Fork, The fork is fine, so is the release bearing, the pressure plate looks fine too, I have no clue what the hell it is, does anyone know what could happen?

Was driving in traffic normally, pressed the clutch and the pedal never came back up, everything was fine up untill that day, what I did notice was that the clutch line was always getting loser, i stopped 2 times that day to tighten it, because when I pressed the pedal it would not dissengage the clutch, after the second time adjusting it is when it happened, I know that the release fork, bearing, and the pressure plate are fine, if the pressure plate gave out it wouldnt let the car drive because the lutch would be dissengaged, so the pressure plate is fine. release bearing is brand new, must have been replaced along with the clutch 2000 kilomiters ago, so its come down to my clutch cable, its not broken, but do you guys think it could have stretched to the point where it lengthens itself?

I'm pissed right now because if I knew all that ---- was fine I would have never taken the tranny out, such a apin in the ass too.

Re: Might as well make a "Broke this today" thread

have u taken them apart yet or you Think the PP and clutch is fine.

i`ve broke my shift fork (release fork) before, similar thing happened but mine would not disengage because the forks all cracked/bented up.

I did take everything apart, yes, fork is fine, it would be nearly impossible to break a B18A1 fork, since its about as small and short as Kain's penis, they are also all cast iron, the D series Forks are way different, they are long and made out of shitty metal and that is why they break.

Today I will see WTF is going on, hopefully I get this figured out.

Re: Might as well make a "Broke this today" thread

stretched cable? sounds like it to me. everything mechanically works but the clutch wont disengage because the pedal is stuck to the floor
hows the spring on the release fork look?

Just hit up Corey's or Andy's Autowreckers man, they won't want much for one, or anything, then you'll know if it's that.

Its fine, when I had the tranny off and pulled on the lever the release bearing went out, and when I let go it went back in, so that is fine too.
