I have a flux wire mig welder. It has 90amps and i want to know if i could use this to weld aluminum. It is all electric and no gas.

Re:Mig Welder Question
dont think so, pretty sure you're gonna need tig or nada.

Re:Mig Welder Question
no you can't weld aluminum with a flux core.. and you can only weld aluminum with tig and you have to toy with polarity and ---- like that..try using google to get some info if you read up on it you can figure it out

Re:Mig Welder Question
You can do aluminum with a mig but need a conversion kit. Even then it sucks.

Re:Mig Welder Question
A wire feed welder is not a mig.A mig is set up to be used with shielding gas.

Re:Mig Welder Question
a MIG with only PURE ARGON and +ve power can weld aluminium with a conversion kit. I'm waiting on mine still, I'll do a write up on it when I get it.

Re:Mig Welder Question
mig and flux are weak sauce period! I regret getting my mig even though it is a nice unit. Wifey just granted permission for a tig though :)
