MIDWEST MEET: Sun. March 20 *next weekend*
WHY: Cray91 needs a built d16y8 in his car and he needs to convert from auto to manual.
WHEN: Sun March 20 at 9am till wheneva.
WHERE: My house
16814 Embers Ave.
Farmington, Mn. 55024
We're gonna probably take the motor out the night before, so all we'll have left is to drop the Y8 in and do the auto to manual. We'll have most everything in a "drop the ---- in" status, so it won't be too bad.
Free food, free beer.
THINGS YOU COULD BRING: Mig welder, engine hoist, timing light, and strippers. (hot ones)
RSVP in this thread and I'll PM you my cell phone number.

Tony, you shouldn't have.
Flux mig tig core welders work just fine. We don't have anything that we know of that needs to be welded, but you know the more options you have the better if you run into anything.

Don't hold me to this but I might be able to come and bring my engine hoist. I work Sunday morn till noon so I would get there late. Theres also the issue of digging the hoist out of the back of the garage and then putting it into my HB...yeah.
Saturday would be better for me but how are you guys removing the engine then?

We have a top secret way to remove motors without a hoist.
Take wheels off car and lower it onto the ground.
Unbolt all the mounts, hope engine doesn't crack the cement floor.
Jack car up really high and pull motor out with custom seatbelt strap.
Putting it in is a differen't story. Depending on how far away you are, I could pick up the hoist sometime this week and then we'll have a present waiting for you when you get here.
