Midpipe on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2437531113

I'm thinking of getting this and welding on a dynomax or flowmaster, something cheap that won't be loud.

Does this setup sound like it will be loud? I just don't want it to sound farty and loud...

also, are 88-91 civic hatchback midpipes the same thing as a crx midpipe?

www.summitracing.com

sells OBX mid pipes I think for a bit more but dont charge 45 for shipping. Also Summit is a bit better on service than any chump on ebay

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

why dont you just buy a muffler and have an exhaust shop do the piping for you? you can pick any size piping you want, and its about the same price (or cheaper). just make sure that you go to a GOOD exhaust shop. ask people in your area where they got their exhaust done, and if they recommend that shop. i paid like $100 for dual exhaust piping, and it looks very clean. not only that, but i KNOW that it fits my car.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

because I live in the redneck riviera. I've checked on prices and they give me some bunk about how since it's "custom" it'll take alot more "fabrication" and then they quote me at 500 bucks or some retarded ---- like that.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

That looks like a fat waist of money and that guys feedback sucks ass. :-X I had a complete exhaust built for about $200 at the only exhaust shop here in town. Tell that redneck ---- that you're not a dumbass and you know what a custom exhaust should cost. >:(

If it has a resonator, the sound should be ok.
At least it's stainless and has a lifetime warranty.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

Also, nobody in town can make mandrel bends, is 2.5 okay with crush bends? I'm not going to be boosting over 7 psi.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

Damn, they don't make mandrel bends :o, I got mine made, mandrel bent 2.5" all the way from a cheap ebay cat converter to my ricey muffler for $120.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

I have heard bad things about SS auto chrome. It bothers me that they dont unwrap the exhaust in the pics, what are they not showing you. You could always buy 2.5" mandrel stainless from www.speedpartsrus.com and do it yourself, it would be less than buying one that may not fit and getting raped on shipping.
Looking at that pic I see four 45s and one 90, that comes to $81.50 with shipping from us. You will have to do a little work but you know it will fit. Any decent exhaust shop should be able to weld it up for you if you cant weld or dont want to get your hands dirty.

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

Listen to Custom Coach on this one, he knows what he is talking about, I checked on the OBX crap and its not 2.5 but 2 and 3/8 (Only an 1/8th off)

Get the bends and have it done at an exhaust shop, dont forget the resonator in the mid pipe

I had my 2.5 exhaust built for 100$, and will build the next one myself for less

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

I found a shop that can do 2.5 for 100 bucks if i bring in the muffler and cat that I want, is this going to cause problems on 7psi d15?

Re:Midpipe on ebay...

okay, screw this, i'm spending the weekend with my uncle a month from now, so I'm going to buy all of the parts needed to hang my own exhaust, I'm going to install the turbo with the wastegate disconnected and weld/mount the intercooler...

Disregard my other posts, here's my new question list:

What do I use for a resonator?
What parts to i get to seal the cat(orings and whatnot?)
If i mount the entire turbo assembly(with oil feed attached) and disconnect the wastegate, will i be able to drive around without damaging the turbo?
