Microwaves and copper.
 
before i waste my time ------- with the piece of ---- i want to know if there is any copper in worthwhile amounts in microwaves to bother gutting it . I have a big stash of copper and figure i'd check before
i cash in .

only copper is in the transformer, i bet its a few pounds worth, but have fun getting it out. Be sure to ground out that capacitor or itll knock you on your ass

The main part of the weight in a microwave transformer is the ferrite core the wire is wrapped around. I say pass, even for what copper's going for it's not worth the hassle.
