Master power Turbos, What experiences do you have ?

Hey guys,
we recently became distributors of master power turbos after trying a few out with great success on our cars and a few customers as well. We have also done some research online and spoken with the company reps directly, and the feedback seemed to very positive. The ones in discussion are the real ones from brasil, not the ss autochrome version that just uses the housings and chinese internals. We would like to know who has used them, what do you think about them? Any feedback is appreciated as we are looking to have a group buy on these as long as the general consensus is positive. The turbos are offered with a warranty, but if the warranty must continually be used, it is not something wed like to offer.

Thanks to anyone whos posts.

Not going to happen, asking for opinions, if you know something we dont about the turbos. Please tell us. Notice we said were not going to run the group buy unless we have a group to buy. ;)

I was thinking these turbos were going to be dirt cheap, but from the looks of it they are going to be in the mid-high $500's. :-\ I think for that price I would rather run a turbo with a well known and trusted name. :l

Well, if the company wasnt huge with a state of the art facility, we probably wouldnt consider selling them. I am no turbo expert when it comes to inspecting the internals of a turbo, nor do i think many others out there are. My opinion soley is based on experience of use and what others online have said. I need some more confirmation and positive reinforcement in order to move forward with this. A $150 - 200 savings for a turbo that would perform the same as a garrett (assuming it will) can be well spent on a wastegate or something else in the turbo kit.

Master Power turbos are great. They are not a XS Power etc or anything close to it.Lots of the Mustang guys run them.I say great as we need someone selling reliable turbos on HMT.

I've heard positive things about real master power turbos. I've heard negative things about the fake master power turbos.

Provided they're the real ones I don't see a problem in selling them. Selling things that says ---- like "Type-R" on a boost gauge...now that isn't going to fly. ::)

pete has a master power t61 turbo for his cavalier.

it "appears" to be "ok:" but honestly its nothing i would ever run.

for the price ill fork over 60 more dollars and run a garrett.

Some of there prices at other places look pretty good. And some of the mustang and rx7 guys seem pretty impressed with them. Id like to see your prices and if your going to be caring the entire line or just the t3 and t3/t4's if you carry any of the bigger stuff i might be game to buy 1-2 bigger tubos.

Yeah alot of Mustang guys run them so I haven't really heard anything bad about them. However, if the prices are about the same as a Garrett, than I'll buy the garrett.

Based on zero experience, and coming from HMT's resident loudmouth, feel free to completely discount that opinion.

Words of wisdom.

Re: Master power Turbos, What experiences do you have ?

ive used a real master power turbo (from brasil) on my very first setup almost 2 years ago. put to much oil pressure to it for to long and it needed a rebuild and was a little to big for my taste (spooled to late) so i got a smaller other brand turbo.

decent turbo when it was at full boost, i would purchase another one, for the right price, and it wasnt any where near a new garret.

turbocalculator.com used to sell them as well before they went down.
