o i forgot, no ls motors around. Anyway, the engine is ready to go to the machinist, other than that, i need a welder to finish the new mani and all the piping. Lets see, other than that, besides a few nuts/bolts and gaskets and a little bit of wiring, i have pretty much everything i need to finish the project. Oh yeah, i quit workin on the road and now i work for National Grid: lineman class B.

we just bought a 252 to compliment our 350p. we have had nothing but trouble with arc starting and burnback. we have had the local miller rep come to the shop twice now and no luck. he first gave us a set of knurled-V rollers because he thought the wire was slipping, that didnt work so now he is thinking there is something wrong with the feeder system (not a consistent feed rate causing the burnback)

IMO the machine needs another roller drive like the 350p. the 252 is the same machine as the 350p except no pulse and only one set of rollers. i dont think the lack of pulse would mean they needed to axe one of the rollers as well. and i think they are covering up a problem as the MM251 was only on the market for less than a year before the 252 came out

if it werent for the slipping issue i think the 252 is just as good as the 350p. the only time i use pulse on the 350p is when were using the aluminum push-pull setup. a cheaper alternative to the 252 is the 212. the only difference is the 252 is digital the 212 is old school *****

and Dave, i dont know if your machine has it but pre-post flow may give those welds some Tig looking color

I have the Hobart 180 package from tractor supply and it came with EVERYTHING - a tank. Glove, brush, autodimming helmet, car, hammer, wire, regulator ect..

Honestly the Hobart is a great welder. It welds just as good as the same voltage miller welder would.

The gun on mine even says Miller :P

mine didnt come with the tank and some accessories, but it did come with all the stuff except wire and tips to run solid wire instead of flux core, regulator and lines etc. And yes, my gun says miller too. Seems like a pretty decent machine soo far
