Re:manifold porting
Rotary air grinder and bits. You could use a dremel too if you dont have air.

Re:manifold porting
Dont expect much of anything by porting the runners on a stock head.

Re:manifold porting
I heard that the B16 manifold is easy to mess up when trying to port it or polish it??

Re:manifold porting
if you already got the boost, you might as well turn up the boost 1 or 2 lbs instead of spending the whole day grinding ur manifold for 8 hp.

Re:manifold porting
I remember some pictures somewhere on this site (probably the main site, not the forum) of jeff port matching his ----.
I have ported/polished/de-burred aluminum heads in the past, the gains aren't really noticable (not like say ripping out the cat or CAI). A die grinder is the preferred way, but a dremel will work. Working with cast iron is a mother fucker, aluminum is a lot more forgiving to your stress levels. |

Re:manifold porting
Here is a link to one of our old tech pages on port-matching. The background image is gone, so it makes the yellow text hard to read, but the info should be easy enough to follow.
And "NO" we do not sell port-matched manifolds anymore. Craig @ Tuner Toys http://www.tunertoys.com/TechArticles/HFManifoldD16.htm |
