Man I feel so bad.....
 

I took my son riding yesterday and he fell off and fractured his arm right above the elbow. His arm is in a splint and a sling and has to be like that for a week.

We had just got to the place where we ride and he got on his quad and took off before I could unload my bike. He was going full speed(about 25mph) and took a turn and as the rear end slipped he hit a hole and over he went. Luckily his quad didnt roll over him. I feel bad couse its christmas eve and his arm is in a sling.

The people at the hospital were giving me ---- telling me he was too young to ride. ----, he wants to go back as soon as he's able to he says. I felt like this one nurse was going to call CPS on me. The bitch kept giving me dirty looks the whole time we were there. Man I was freeking out couse I thought he had broken it. Well at least mom(my wife ;)) didnt chew my ass out :-\.

Me and my son ride on the weekends awell, he loves the dirt bikes and go carts.
hes only just over 2 so I have to ride on the 50 with him but he does the gas and brake and trys to steir.

I know one day he is going to get hurt just like all of us have at one point or the other. just remember how much fun hes had the whole time uv been riding together. also know that because he love it so much that when his arm is better he will be out there again because he likes it.

pain is part of life and hes got a buit right now but it will just make him a better rider with more respect for his machine

Your rite, some good cam out of this. Before it happend I know he had little respect for his bike. But he now tells me that he has to be carefull next time couse he doesnt want to hurt his other arm ;). It just felt so awfull seeing my son on the groung cying. I couldnt even think. Nothing worse to me than seeing my son in pain :7 :'(

I know how you feel, my son fell on some rocks and needed 6 stiches in his head, when I seen him I wanted to kill somone. but ---- happens, just be glad he was with you and not somone else so you dont got to jail for murder.

there is nothing worse then seeing you boy hurt but atleast its only phisical, boy grow back. if it was in his mind then be said but its not so go get him a nice new chestprotector for when he feels better and call it a day

Hope your kid gets well soon man, and ---- what the nurse said, kid was just trying to have some fun, its not like you could have made a difference riding along side him, ---- happens and accidents happen, and its not like the quad goes 60+ mph.
CPS Cant do ---- about stuff like this anyway.

If your son doesn't get hurt here and there, THEN they should call CPS, cause you aren't being a fun dad. It's a life lesson called "The balance of fun and responsibility". If you want to have fun, you have to accept that you're gonna get hurt. If you don't want to get hurt, stay in bed all your life.

jesus, what the hell is wrong with people these days. Kids cant be kids and get hurt? I fell off a slide when I was 10 and broke my arm...guess I was to young to be up there. :3

Kids get hurt. Its part of growing up. He will just learn to give a little lean so he doesnt roll it. I didnt have a helmet on and slamed my face in the bars and I got my vision back and went riding.

ROFLMAO. That sux that the little guy got hurt. You should have grabbed the nurse by her hair and told her she's there to administer heath care not parent your kid...then you should have made her give the child head.

---- happens. If he hadn't fallen off the bike he might have ran into the wall at home and fractured his arm or something. I was cleaning the microwave today and cut the ---- out of two of my fingers on a sharp edge. ---- happens. How the ---- do you cut yourself cleaning a microwave? ::) I did so much stupid ---- when I was a kid, I'm surprised my bones are still intact. I went down a slide head first and didn't survey the landing area beforehand. The kids that were already there were sliding big rocks down the slide. Guess what happened? :1 I was riding my bike with no handlegrips and crashed. Guess where the sharp end of the handlebar went? :1

---- that nurse. Kids get hurt no matter what they do. You were out having a good time with your son and ---- happened. Not your fault. You can't chase him wherever he rides with a big pillow waiting for him to fall. That ----- of as nurse is probably one of those freaks that holds her kid as close as possible, breast feeds until teenage years and takes them to the hospital whenever they cough. ::)

dont worry ralph. Thats nurse wa just mad cuase she never got to ride a quad as a kid.

I cant imagine what id do if mathias broke somwething. But htne again you cant grow up if you dont have any battle scars.

I broke my arm at 8 years old while playing wiht my dad. ---- happens!

Bah, look at it this way...you say he only has to wear the splint/sling for a week, look at all the extra attention and sympathy he will get during christmas :y WTF, kids heal fast, I break something and I'm fucked for 6-8 weeks if it heals right at all :X

Thanks for the good words guys. He had fun last nite opening gifts with one hand :P. Now "cast itch" is owning him. I made him a little stick to he can reach in the cast and scratch himself with.
