Default A man can't play his Gran Turismo ! HELP!!

After getting a nastalgic feeling while watching vh1's i love the 90's i all of a sudden felt that i needed to play grand tourismo. To my surprise my gran turismo collection is in crap conditions, i lost grand tourismo 1 completely . Gran Turismo 2 while playing, the music drops out and completely slows down the game (scratches), and worst yet... My Gran Turismo 3 disc will not go into simulation mode(arcade mode works but it starts dropping out : (. I'm so strapped for cash at the moment and dont want to whip out 20 for a new game : (. I've tried many things to polish up my games and generally car wax seemed to work hella good on small scratches in my GT2. I hoped that it would also work for my GT3 but nothing simulation still down : \ It has some deep set scratches, but the foil backside has been saved. I was personally thinking about using some fine grit sand paper 1.6k grit to get down to the deeper scratches then buffing it out back to normal. Anyone tried this before? I'm also hoping making a copy of the game (if the computer can read it without bad sectors) and burning to a fresh dvd would help and hopefully since i have the original game which can boot swap the disc before i hit the simulation mode option. Any input greatly appreciated. Remember i have a budget of approx 7 bucks to get this done so please post the sane HMT methods .

Gay my ripper just finished in a error (cursed dvd tempting me), i'll try ripping with ignore settings and see what happens. Also i did some googling and found some video stores charge 5-10 bucks for fixing games in their machines. Anyone have any experience with this?

i would mod my ps2 but that also cost $$$$ maybe if the mod chips were 20 bucks. Btw most dvd media are more like 1.50 per disc. Cheapest you can find them is like $1 per on shitty unknown companies that make pure coasters. And if you are buying cd's at .35 you're getting ripped off . I remember when i bought my dvd player originally, i flipped when i saw the disc prices like the cheapest you could get em was at 2.50 per. Big 100 pack bundles were like 200 back in december

Damn bootlleg playstation games, that takes me back. I used to do that ----, but only for PS1, PS2 mod installation at the time was a lot more complicated than te PS1. PS1 I was able to install a chip on different versions without even looking at directions. And them game enhancers made my job even easier, no installation required. Wow that just takes me back.

Well I don't know if you guys have Fry's Electronics in your area, but the have sales pretty often, and the last sale I went to, I bought a 25 pack of dvd+r's for 13 bucks. The brand is 'Great Quality'. Cheesey name but they work fine for dvd's.

So yeah... Gran Turismo is good.

I've been in the whole scene for a LOOOONG time back when i was a 12 year old finding out that my ***** are going to grow hair : P. I've personally never touched modding, i couldn't give a crap about consoles considering they are just plain gay compared to pc's internet. Looking at sony's stock protection is siq complete overkill. What really perplexed my mind back when i was like 12-14 is that they were able to completely rape the ---- out of dreamcast hacks/emulation/programming/ect. yet there was never a working boot loader for the playstation let alone a decent emulator for the pc. Come to think of it the only free method for playing copied games was the popping top swap method. I've been looking around more for playstation 2 emulation and i've seen various screenshots of works in progress but unfortunately they only run at the super uber insane speed of 2-8 FPS and like 15 frames for intros , on pretty decent pc's running above 3ghz gig ram and 5900's

I don't play games very much, I was in it for the money When I stopped, they had a chip for the PS2 already out (this was like 4 or 5 years ago). I believe back then they were like 50 bucks a piece and then they went down to 25-30 a piece. I'm sure you could find them even cheaper now. I used to get the PS1 mod chips for less than 10 bucks a piece (which I then installed for 50-75 bucks depending on how much of an *** I thought the person was :P). The only problem with the chips now is that I think they are getting hard to find (well I'm sure a google search can solve that, but it'll take a while to find a reputable one I guess since the modding business isn't as hot as it used to be). I also think that the government made the mod chips illegal? Maybe I don't remember correctly. Check it out, the chips shouldn't be too expensive.

http://www.mod-chip.com/ps2nosolder.htm

This would be like the 'Game Enhancer' for the Ps2

Check this site out, looks like they have the same stuff just cheaper.

I've tried making money before, but... the timerofit ratio isn't what i considered very good back when i used to play diablo 2 like it was everquest. Oh well now i'm trying to turn my ways around i've found a bunch of .net proggie books and i'm dedicating myself to at least learn .net by the end of this summer if not get my feet wet in assembler language (j/k). Also it doesn't matter if it's illegal as long as there is supply there will always be demand just take a look at the drug industry

Wtf a nosolder mod chip for the ps2? wierd i would of never thought they would be able to make one . As for that memory card pile, too expensive and no benefits even back when it came out a couple years ago . that solderless key ---- is pretty pimp time to look for reviews

Well for myself the timerofit ratio wasn't too shabby, PS1 mod chip install no more than an hour and make at least 40 bucks. It was the games that killed me, burning at 2x, jeez it took an eternity But I am done with all that ish. The money was good in high school, but today it just ain't gonna bring in enough dough.

But if you wanna copy PS2 games, you should look into those external mod chips or the solder less mod chips. I'm suppose they work fine since I don't think sony will be making another version of the PS2 (mod chips get outdated). Those chips look promising, but they cost more than I expected.

And Diablo, I remember that game, I was hooked on that for a while too. I think that was the game where I would go online and play just to kill my 'team mates' it was fun, but then this guy with some 'god mode' hack was playing and it made it no fun. He was invincible and kept on killing up. And then more and more people started using cheats and just killed it

There was another game I used to smash on all night long, I forgot what it was though.
