Default Make a Turbo for my Vette?

hey, I'm new to this whole turbo scene, but I like it. I've got a 79 Vette with an L-82 that's wicked sluggish. I want to put in a turbo, but can't find kits that aren't mad money. How do I go about home brewing my own turbo system?

just read up in the projects section of the site, and you will see what parts and peices you will need. For a vette it will be a little different, since you have 8 cylinders. Im not sure whether they only use one side with one turbo, or if they plump the exhaust manifolds together, or you could go dual.

You can do 3 things...put twin turbo's one on each manifold, or put one small turbo like a t3/t4 hybrid in your case. or put a big turbo T66 for example and do a dual feed..both exhaust to merge in a collector and feed the big turbo with sum exhasut

Ok, well first of all. You need to take your car and drive it to a lake. Then find a good sturdy dock and clear everyone out of the way. after the dock is open and clear drive your car as fast as you can into the water. And leave it there cause thats where it belongs! 79 vette thats the trashiest car there is! Now on the other hand if you have a mullet, live in a run down trailer, where the same jeans and shirt every day , and dont shower then by all means keep the car cause it will then fit your personality perfect! Lol and what the hell does wicked sluggish mean. I havnt heard those words from anybody in a long time!! Well except from that guy down my block with a mullet. Oh well. These are my words of wisdom for your car today!

Hey.. if he wants to turbo, he wants to turbo. He didn't ask opinions on the car, he's asking for help.

I'm considering a twin turbo mustang in the near future... I kinda prefer twin turbo on v8's.., but it's up to you.

I would be worried aobut what room you might have in the engine compartment. I know the header usually has issues clearing the P/S box and what not. make sure you measeure it or it might be more worth your wile if there is no room to supercharge it.

"Wicked" is a word often used by them damn canadians, but I'm not sure what it means. Sell the vette to an old man and get a real hotrod- 88-91 crx
