made a grill for my bumper(with how to &picts)56k go die!

Well I didnt want to paint my I.C but I also didnt want all the attention. So this is what I did:

http://2.pichold.com/diamondexpansion.jpg
^1-Went to my local metal mart and picked up some aluminum diamond expansion material.I think I paid $24 for this 4'x8"sheet.
http://2.pichold.com/bumpercover.jpg
^2-remove the bumper cover and cut out all the black plastic with a razer blade.Only cut the plastic grill.Take a piece of cardboard and trace the opening with a marker. This will be your template for when you cut the aluminum. You can cut the aluminum with a pair of tin/aviation snips.

3^-Here I have allready cut and painted my grill with flat black paint. It is verry important that you make the grill 1/2" bigger all the way around. You need that 1/2" of material to epoxy it to the bumper cover.

^4-In the top 2 picts you can see why you need to make it 1/2" bigger. You need to place the aluminum behid the bumper where it will sit and bend the 1/2"of material around the inside of the bumper. This is how it will be held.I have put arrows so you can see where I bent the 1/2"all the way around.

^5-This is the epoxy I used. This is my 3rd grill and Ive used JBweld before and it works good too. This was enough to do the whole thing. It was like $3 or something.
http://2.pichold.com/grill3.jpg
^6-Find some pipe and some wire and tie it through the grill to hold the grill in place. This will ensure a good bond of the epoxy.
http://2.pichold.com/grill4.jpg
^7-here is a side shot of the grill in place held by the pipes and wire.Do not over tighten it!Now flip the bitch over, mix your epoxy and aply it spairinly. You dont need to go all over with the epoxy.I only did like 4 spots on top,2 on each side, and 3 on the bottom.Let it set for like 1 hour.
^8-now go have a beer and watch it dry :P

Yes I gained like 15hp to the wheels :P

The side ones are a bitch couse of the pipes.I would have to really hack at the bumper cover.I dont think there would be anny material to epoxy the grill....well now that you mention it I think Im gonna try it ;D

WOW. What really impressed me, was your idea with the wire and pipes to help it dry right. That is ingenuity. 8)
