Made a gauge pod for my hatch
replaces the center vent. Will hold boost, oil pressure, water temp and my neat-o remote screen for my wideband
Need to find a less-glossy paint http://67.33.14.41/ef_pod.jpg |

Re: Made a gauge pod for my hatch
It wasnt too hard. I got a stock piece, removed the vent fins and took out some of the center divider. I then cut a piece of cardboard that I could stuff in the hole. The cardboard basically turned the big hole into a storage device for fiberglass resin. I then rigged it up so that the hole was facing directly up and started pouring resin into it. Lots of sanding and touching up with more resin later, I finally sanded down the whole thing so it'd have a uniform texture. I could have gone all-out and included some autometer angled gauge rings into the mix but I just decided to whip out my trusty 2" hole saw, made some measurements and started cutting. I still gotta work on the piece that'll hold my LCD screen.

Eh, that's not all that dirty. You just need to pick stuff up.
Nice pod. I'm thinking about re-doing the plexiglass cover I made for mine closer to this type of style. |
