I've kinda been wondering the same things though with ls/vtec setups. I don't mean to try and thread jack here, but i've helped a few of my friends build em, and now that i finally got my ls i've been thinking more and more about doing one. I've seen some really nice ls/vtec's that have lasted a decent while, and then i've also seen some really shitty ones that have lasted only a week. Originally i was gonna boost the ls in my ED hatch, but after reading about how shitty the heads flow on a stock ls, i've been wondering if i should even waste my time anymore. Honestly this is a street-driven car, and i'm not looking to make anything over the 300hp mark anyway. For where i live it would just be plain un-drivable. I know best bang for the buck would be the turbo, but i just don't know if i want to go through all the hassle of one again.
