I hope this is not a repost, I did a search but didnt pull up anything... Anyways thought this was pretty cool, saw it for sale on a 240 forum. American V8 rumble in an S14. To me this would be a SAW-WHEAT ride, rear wheel drive, a V8, a 240, what more could you want... beside the auto tranny...

Heres his cardomain page too

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx

The "350" is really a 346, also its weight is within 20 pounds of the KA motor that the 240 had stock because of its aluminum block and heads. So as for the weight distribution and handling being ruined, you are obviously wrong
wow.. so apparently the ls1 doesnt weigh more than 20 or so pounds over a stock 240 motor because its aluminum block and heads? is that true?

and thats a sick ass transplant.. but i wouldnt beileve it unless i saw it infront of me...

Sweet I like the valve cover. I bet that fucker is fast. I can only imagine, since those heavy cars like the trans am have that motor and they're pretty quick. I bet traction is a problem.

ls1 is great as long as it doesnt develop piston slap. But I'd love to own a c5. In my vr4 owner's thread, is my wedding day pics, and I borrowed my buddies 99 (vr4 was getting the engine rebuild). It's as fast as the vr4 but the corvette recognition is awesome. People look at you like your really rich, even tho you can pick one up for 20k (97-2000 or so year, 2001 to 2004 will cost ya bit more)

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx

Holy ---- , what an ass. Stock ls1 has 350hp. You guys would know better about the weight than me but 2k pounds seems like an extreme exageration.

A friend of mine had a 90 240SX with a LS1 motor pushing 500horse. It was a track car though, very quick car, he got T-boned in a corner and smashed his helmet on the roll cage and died...big down.

The color of this car is way ugly but cool swap.

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx

a local shop out here has a ls1 240 too. Actually one of my good friends has a 240 with a 2jz in it. The same shop has 3 1jz 240s and 1 rb25dett 240. They kinda have a abcesion with 240s for some reason lol.

stock for stock vr4 is not even close to as fast as any ls1 powered car, especially not the C5.

unless you count a full second in the 1/4 close

about piston slap... some engines do it on startup because the short skirts, and the aluminum block... if they do it while warm there could be a problem but they are few and far far inbetween... some people misdiagnose "piston slap" when its really the lifters which its possible they could turn slightly in their bores

and the LSx all aluminum engines are very light... due to their aluminum block, heads, and OHV design

And the quarter mile is off, as well as the horsepower....

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx

As much as i enjoy american muscle who ever did this ruined a beatiful car the 240 sx is a great drift car. Placing an ls1 in that car would ruin it. The difference of 20 lbs is exahggerated i'm shure is more then that although not much more. I'm not saying that this isnt' cool but i feel that its a wate of money, one could place a far better engine in that car such as an s15 or even an rb25.

Paint the car a new color. WTF

Re: LS1 in a S14 240sx

How is that a waste of money? Some import motors cost more than a crate motor and used at that... Its still a drift monster, even mroe to now, auto or not that car will kick the ass end out with no problems...

ls1 motor is a superior motor stock for stock to anything that nissian has put out from the factory bottom line.

live in your 15 second e-brake drifting dream world

hot rod mag says the ls1 with manual trans attached is 497lbs and with auto attached is 457lbs

rb25 & trans is 720lbs, ka & trans is 540lbs, SR & trans is 490
