The bottom end is junk? ok, ::)

if you want to spin that many rpms all the time, you only have once choice and that is to get a B17 GSR crank and put it in their, you will have a almost a perfect rod stroke ratio. But you will slightly loose some displacement.

so what do i need to do to rev about 8000

Re:LS/VTEC

stock cranks can rev that high, it's just the bottom end geometrey was never designed to do so. So basically your car wont get the 200,000 mile honda longevity, it maybe only 20-30,000 miles, if you drive it like that.

Any of the Vtec heads can spin 8,000rpms though

Why do you NEED to rev that high?

Re:LS/VTEC

Well peak hp is made at 8200rpms on my ls/vtec. So I shift that high if I need to. 20-30000 miles was just a guess, I was just trying to say, that it wont last nearly as long. As I already stated, you could put a b17 crank in it. Or just buy a B16a!

Re:LS/VTEC

I don't know, if it were me, I would just not feel good about reving that high in an lsvtec. Like Jeff said, just get a b16 if you want something that you can rev the ---- out of. Most of us don't want to change motors evers couple years.

its not that i want to rev that high its that i want power lets say 200whp to the wheels with a 150shot

Re:LS/VTEC

175 at the wheels, NA with stock cams and stock pistons,

200 would be easy, with some high compression pistons and some good cams.

Or a turbo..

150shot of nos on a stock engine will gernade quickly.

I am getting a turbo setup for it shortly.
