LS\CRV vtec ?s Jeff help
Hey I am in the middle of building a pinned ls vtec with eagle h-beam rods and je 9:1 pistons. I was wondering why the sleeves always crack at the top, is it from over reving, to much boost or what? Just want to what not to do.

Think about it, where is the major part of the compression going to be? At the top of the cylinder when the piston is on it's compression stroke. That is why they say blockguards will help, but I am anti blockgaurd. DON"T USE A BLOCKGUARD.

like dr. boost said, thats where compression takes place at the top of the block. that means that is where its gonna heat up the most

hah, yup thats exactly where my sleeves cracked... in every cylinder, 8 cracks total. starting from the middle all the way up. cracked the head gasket in several spots too.
The car still hauled ass, I should of left the head on, lol.... it just smoked a little ;D |
