Default low carb/atkins diet

maybe im the only one, but im sick and ------- tired of hearing about this stupid ------- diet. everybody is talking about it, all the fast food guys are advertising new "low carb" ---- on tv, i see it displayed in grocery stores, and its getting out of hand. im sorry, but how the hell does a person just not eat carbohydrates... that ---- just isn't natural. as far as the "rapid" weight loss, its mostly all water weight you are losing... youre still just as fat, but you weigh less because you are dehydrated(water weighs alot). i also hear that on the diet you are always tired(no carbs=no energy), constipated, and have bad breath. not only that, but that ---- cant be good for your long term health. our bodies were not designed to process that much protein. also, it sounds to me that a person on this diet would increase their likelyness of becoming diabetic because you are ------- with your sugar levels to the extreme.

sorry for the long rant. i personally am not overweight but i keep hearing overweight friends/coworkers/tv/whoever talking about this ---- like its the best thing ever. only a couple of them actually took the time to find out the negative effects on the body that most people dont talk about. whatever happened to eating right and exercising?

Anybody who stays on this diet will die. You can't eat nothing but fats and think its good for you. To starve your body of sugars is not good. This diet was created because fat people do not want to stop eating fat. Because of this diet a bucket of KFC chicken is now advertised as HEALTHY. Nothing like a bucket of artery clogging ---- to be considered health food.

This is off topic but one guy ate nothing but McDonalds foods for a month. He was a perfectly healthy guy who exercised regulary. 3 weeks into the experiment he was 30 pounds overweight and on the verge of liver failure. Doctors pleaded with him to stop. He made an independent film about it.

Yeah I agree low carb/atkins diet fads are ---- and I would stay away from them. The goal is to lose body fat ...not weight. Go to www.bodybuilding.com if you want to get more info about anything having to do with working out, losing weight, diets, etc... it's great site.

Yeah if you want to lose weight read mens health magazine or take tips from bodybuilders or a personal trainer at the gym. Eat a well balanced meal and excercise and you will do fine.

I guess people dont read books.. well you can add carbs back in after the first 2 weeks. the first 2 weeks get the body to change the way it works, instead of storeing carbs it get it to use them while adding carbs to keep the neergy level high. I will be doing this diet, if i keep the way i eat now ill die just as fast as anyhting else. im 250 Lb now, i want to be 200. as soon as im 200 ill be happy.

I am a Big Irish kid 6'2" 250lbs Im also a Chef. The atkins diet like all diets will fade out someday. The two real problem's with the atkins diet is that for one that your body needs carbs. end of discussion. And two as soon as you loose all that wieght if you even break for one day and eat carbs again your fucked. this diet tricks the body. If you really want to loose weight....Smoke Butts, Drink Beer, and do lots of drugs. The pounds will shed right off. Anyway how can any diet be good when you can't have Beer, Potato's, Bread, Pasta. What the ---- else is there Whats next no more red meat. I'd go crazy.

exactly right, and it does work.

carbs is what your body uses for energy when it has them avail. when you stop eating carbs it teaches your body to use fats as energy. after a couple weeks your start to eat carbs again, and your body will still like to use fat as energy.
