we make 280 hp off 1.5 leiter engines with wedge style heads and individual carbs. whats wrong with carbs?

Too much time spent on the "wire tuck" ----.
Nothing wrong with carbs. They are just hard to keep adjusted for emmisions and efficiency on daily cars. |

Nothing wrong with carbs. It's that manifold that's killing it. That turn below the carb sucks for keeping the fuel suspended.

There are millions of cars on the road with carbs that have to pass emissions most cars came with carba in the mid 80's and before

Had an 89 Accord that was carb'd. Her in Houston they do emissions test on 1981 and later. I have a 71, so they just check my horn and lights and parking brake.
