My dad and I took a trip up to the youkon with the local flying club, there were a couple points where we put 15 planes down on a road in the middle of nowhere, had some lunch and took off again. Pretty cool if you ask me.

I met a guy once that said he would land on roads and all kinds of weird places. I think in some situations it is legal.
