Looking at other cars

Well, as some of you know I am selling the del slo and buying a different car. At fist I was looking into a 1st gen eclipse gsx, but now I'm going to look at two other cars on monday and wanted to hear what you guys think. One is a 1987 300ZX Turbo and the other is a 1987 Chrysler Conquest TSI. Both are in good condition and have all the leather options and ----. So if it were you, which one would you take?

Re:Looking at other cars

I recently bought a 92 Eagle Talon TSi...I'm having to do some work on it, but I can't wait to get it back on the road, I think it's gonna be a gr8t car...I'd just make sure that if you buy one it has a 6 bolt flywheel, as SOME 1st gens are 7 bolts, but if you're looking into a 91 it should be a six bolt...If you're gonna go anything as old a late 80 model 300Z turbo or Conquest, I personally would look into a Dodge Daytona or Plymouth Charger turbo, those are also neat lil cars, especially the carol shelby models, or maybe an SVO Mustang(late 80 turbo model) or another of my personal favorites, a Buick Regal T type...6 cylinders and a turbo own in my opinion...

Man thats tough. The GSX would be the best for if you want to go as fast as possible. I can tell you how to get it to run a 12.5 right out of the box with $100 in mods.

Although the TSI would be the most fun.

Re:Looking at other cars

Well I looked at a car today. Someone at my step dads work(Dodge in Venice) is selling a 92 GST thats in perfect ------- condition. The guy who has it was the only owner of the car and is a 16 year mitsu mechanic. Car has just turned 100k miles. Hes selling it for $4000, and I put $500 down today and told him to hold it for me. As soon as the Sol sells, I can go pick it up ;D

Oh and I allready had a 3rd gen supra. It was my first car, a 91 Turbo, and it was a POS.

ISnt the gst awd, or was that only some gst's?

Boostoholic 02-15-2004 12:34 AM

Re:Looking at other cars

GST is FWD, GSX is AWD.

Re:Looking at other cars

import tuner has a write up to get 106hp- for 640 bucks. for a 92 mitsubishi eclipse(talon). im sure you could get the parts for less than 640 tho.

kain 02-15-2004 09:20 AM

Re:Looking at other cars

yeah, i read that. they aded like a downpipe, a boost controller, and a fuel cut off. and made close to 300 hp. is this correct?

it can be done for a lot less.... a MBC is about $10... the fuelpump rewire to provide a full 12 volts is.. esentially free... and an exaust shop will run a full exhaust for $95 + cost of muffler ( of course this cost varies)... all that and you've got a mid 13 sec DSM ( assuming youre AWD)
