Default Looking for a new car, how bout some suggestions?

Hey guys, it's time for me to buy a new ------- car...and I don't want some lame ---- that I'll want to sell in 3 months after owning it, like the current piece I have.

The car I have now is old, ugly, not really fast. Really it does me no service other than getting me from point A to point B reliably (usually) and safely in a timely manner. It doesn't do bad on gas either. Recently there have been a ton of maintenance problems and the bills are stacking up for that ----.

What I have now: 1991 Honda CRX HF, almost 200k miles. It has pretty much a brand new front end under it a few hundred dollars later, and a B16 swap with approxomately 70k miles now. It's missing the driver side fender after a minor accident, and there is NO rust on the body.

What I'm looking for: Something 2000 or newer, looks decent, and it would be a positive if it were fast or could be made fast. I'm not looking to spend more than $20,000 but I'd like to spend closer to $10,000. Also, rear wheel drive is a requirement. I'm tired of this gay *** front wheel drive bullshit. I would prefer seating for more than two, but whatever.

Basically right now I'm looking at Mustangs and Corvettes. I don't think I'd be able to afford a Z06 or an 03-04 Cobra, so I'm looking at regular vettes and GT mustangs. In my area GT mustangs can be found for $10,000 to $20,000 depending on the year, miles, and condition. What I'm thinking is pick up a cheap GT mustang and boost it. Anybody know how those motors hold up?

My other choice was to wait a few years and pick up a used '05 GT cause honestly I kind of like them, but for that money I could probably pick up a used Z06.

Anyway I've found a few decent condition decent miles Corvettes in my price range, but I know for a fact I would be craving more after a short period of time. Luckily for me, Lingenfelter's shop is less than 200 miles from me...but that's expensive.

So can anybody else give me some more input? The car doesn't nescessarily have to be domestic or have 8cyl, but I am looking for a performance car since I'm young and stupid. Financing and money isn't an issue as long as the total cost for the car is less than 20 grand.

Yeah I had my eye on Z's too but the TT 350Z's I've seen seemed...slow.

GTO's IIRC are a good ways out of my price range...plus they're pretty ugly IMO.

I would look into http://www.houston-imports.com/forum...d.php?t=303003 before purchasing a Mustang. Essentually Ford is suing anybody using the Mustang name. Pretty much all the Mustang aftermarket.

wel;l i see that you ruled out good gas milage in your search, but in ruling that out you allow the option for RWD, when i bought my 04 GTP i needed decent gas, fwd or rwd, prefer rear but i chose front, and it can be modified to be decently quick and still be swapoed out to be under warranty. its pretty idiotic to buy a new car under warranty and put some ---- on it and blow the ------ engine up unless youre made of cash.

Not that they are the easiest cars to work on but 90+ 300zx's are sexy as hell and can make 400hp+ all day long on some larger turbos and decent fuel map.
