Looking for a new camcorder
Yes, I am looking for a camcorder so I can show you fuckers what Japan is like...plus I wanna record this ---- for myself.
I am looking for something that I can upload it to my computer also. Not just record it on tape. -then I can also make a DVD with my computer (pc has the capabilities) Here is what I was looking at, I just wanna make sure I can put it to my computer. Is there a cable that I can buy...or do I have to have a certain kind of camera? here is what I was looking at. I gotta keep it under $250- to include shipping. (im getting it as a gift) http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-CCD-TRV138-...QQcmdZViewItem |

looking for input. you aren't gonna get ---- for $250 honestly. I bought a more 'budget' model mini DV camcorder, and then took a display model discount on it too, and still paid $350. 250 is gonna get you a real piecer. |

Re: Looking for a new camcorder
suggestion.
spend the money on a really nice digital that does short videos in decent quality, and get a huge mem card ?? |
Re: Looking for a new camcorder
you can get a regular cam with a S-video/Composite/other kind of output, and buy a basic video card with those inputs. i think you just need a tv tuner if the cam has a composite output

Re: Looking for a new camcorder
Check out
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/ They do reviews on a bunch of different cameras and rank them based on price. I just bought a Panasonic GS-31 mini DV camera (rated pretty highly in its price range) for about $350 at BBuy, but you can get them cheaper online. The reason I went with BB was because of the 24 month no interest offer they had going on. Basically if you go with a regular digital camera you want to find the largest CCD you can in your price range. Generally the larger the CCD the better the quality in low light situations. You would be suprised what is considered "low light". HTH. Chris |

Re: Looking for a new camcorder
want a good camera go 3chip... don't do anything but mini dv. get fire wire card for your pc, and you can upload digitaly... which is 100x better then analog composite in... don't get digital 8 that's not actualy digital.
like i say mini dv... is the way to go. don't do vhs c, or high 8, or dvd. dvd is crazy compression. sony makes good cameras, ohhh and don't get maxwell tapes. they will break your camera. always get fuji. you want a really good camera, get the panasonic dvx 100a.... that's the ---- 24p... sony has a couple of great mini dv, HD cameras, but now we are talkin about cameras that are up to 5000 to 6000 bucks. it all depends. nice thing about the 3000 dollars and up cameras, are there abilities to shoot in low light, and there amazing audio features. i am an editor in training, i start work at much music in january... i know what i am talkin about. any other questions pm me. chris O0 |

Re: Looking for a new camcorder
There were really only two popular analog tape formats (not including VHC and BETA of course) - 8mm and VHS-C. The tapes will say on them which type they are. The VHS-C tapes look like minature VHC tapes in that the little white gear looking thing on the bottom is the same size as a standard VHS tape.
