Default Looking to buy a cheap welder, help needed

I look at harbor freight and they have a 90 amp flux welder for 120. I know you get what you pay for but if nothing else I would like to have a welder to tack stuff together like IC pipes and down pipes. That way I could do fab and just take it to a shop to have it welded up all the way. I would imagine I could do IC pipes and downpipes with this welder. Would it be good enough for a log mani? I know somebody is going to say "buy a used miller" or something like that, please don't. I will get one when I can afford it, but I can't right now.

I bought that exact welder about a week ago. It did my IC pipes just fine.

Have you tried to weld anything thicker with it?

No, plus I suck at welding but it held my ---- together fine. It's a pretty strong welder for the price.

A guy at work has one, he said the flux wire is a little jerky coming out.

ya that harbor freight welder is just sweet, check out the badass welds johnny did on his mustang

Just a fyi, if you are going to buy a cheap mig wirefeed, be sure it has gas hookup because fluxwire blows. JB weld has sexier welds than that birdshit.

They have a couple of cheap migs on there as well here are the links if you guys could give me you opinion.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=6271

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=6098

The top one is 230v and the bottom is 115. Obviously it would be easier for me to get the 115 since I won't have to do any wiring, but a 220 plug isn't a big deal either, its just if I need to take it somewhere the probably wont' have 220 right where its needed. I plan to just use it flux at first until I decide I need to get gas for it. What do you guys think of the welders. I don't really know what it means by "dual mig" Anybody care to explain.
