By the way. I totally agree with you. It is very difficult, close to impossible to find an honest shop in Jersey. There are a handful very close to me in my area, and I refuse to go to them.

I was expecting a new turbo manifold or a fancy boost controller or a shiny new turbo, but this ------- guy goes and buys a ------- gas station! I can't wait to see what he gets me for Christmas!

It's interesting the way it works...I learned as I went along through the process.

The land, building, pumps, tanks, lifts, compressor are all owned by Getty, they are also responsible for maintenance and upkeep of these things which is nice as it wont come out of my pocket.

The tools and any other things are all owned by myself (and my business partner). We lease the space from Getty and they in turn supply us gas on a regular basis for which we are paid a commission. No matter what the price of gas is set (Getty sets all the prices), I only get $0.065 per gallon commission...thats it! Pennies...you really make $0 on gas sales. It basically pays for the rent and if you sell enough...may pay for the gas station attendants. Also...in NJ, you are not allowed to pump your own gas so you always have to have at least one pump attendant you are paying for at $7/hr...

Where you make all of the profit is in sales for items in the mini-mart area and of course in the garage bays.

It's a pretty neat business model...and because most everything is setup, you just have to follow the plan and manage the people well.

WTF? Too many ------- retards out there or what? How is it illegal to pump your own gas? When is it going to be illegal to jack your own **** off?

I've heard that about gas stations before. They make no money off gas. They make all the money from merchandise in the store and whatever else they have going on.

wow, you really need to pimp the cigaretts and lotto then huh. The guy who owns a corner store by me says thats where he makes his money. You should try and find a niche to make sure you have a steady flow of customers, like carry something that most places don't
