should have bought the other type of torque wrench and the only tools needed (other than a jack) to change you brakes is a wrench and a big c clamp and takes about an hour hopefully you learned your lesson

it doesnt even take me an hour to swap a rear end and be on the road again let alone do my brakes

i assume what he bought the tools for is to start workin on his car instead of paying out the *** for someone to, so props to him, but he will learn with time that shitty tools just complicate the job and give more headaches then there worth, and a good set of tools are worth there weight in gold when workin on a car (or anything else for that matter) you can cut corners in some area's, but a tourqe wrench would not be one i'd cut

yeah i just did my mom's brakes. 94-97 accords suck it took me forever cuz the honda bastard engineers put the caliper between the fork and the hub, so i had to pull apart the suspension and use a press to get the hub out.

but hey man,at least you got tools now, it'll get you started w/ workin on your car. at this point i don't think you're about to start pullin apart your engine and ----. sounds like you wanna do your brakes and change your oil and ----.

i think thats about how long it took me my first time changing brakes. i have only changed them about 4 time each time on a different car

I killed plenty of cheap *** ratchets pulling the rear suspension off of a junked out CRX. Finally took a 1/2" drive craftsman to it and that did the trick.

Only thing that thing is good for is as a large 1/2" ratchet. Seriously dude, you don't need one of those for doin your brakes. And if you do ever decide to get a "real" torque wrench, go talk to Snap-On or Mac...think i paid close to $180 for my snap-on T-W, but i'll never have to worry about how far out of specs it is like that el-cheapo one probably is.
